Our stay with the jungle guide team in Bukit Lawang was truly a highlight of our trip to Sumatra! From start to finish, everything about the experience was seamless and unforgettable. We booked everything directly with them, and it couldn’t have been easier. Yussuf, the very nice driver, picked us up from the airport and drove us to the accommodation, making the start of our adventure stress-free. Upon arrival, the entire team welcomed us warmly, and we felt comfortable right away. The location of the accommodation was absolutely incredible—nestled in the middle of the green and above a waterfall, it was the perfect escape into nature. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was always full of good vibes and laughter. We also booked the jungle trek with them, and it was beyond amazing. Our guide, Wahyu, was exceptional! He shared so much knowledge about the jungle, gave us all the time we needed to soak it all in, and made the trek unforgettable. Thanks to him, we saw 9 orangutans and had some truly magical moments in the wild. The entire team was so lovely and fun to be around—they really made our stay special. We would absolutely come back and highly recommend everyone to stay here and book the jungle tour with them. Thank you for such an amazing experience!

This is the most amazing place to stay. I've been to the jungle in India, Borneo and the Phillipines but Rambai Tree Eco Jungle Huts not only provided the most comfortable accommodation but they made us feel like family ❤️🙏. Romi and Tia communicated efficiently and clearly from the moment I booked, several months ago. They provided a very reasonably priced, friendly and knowledgeable return airport shuttle - Wayhu, and the best guides - Ronie and Nanda. We saw Orangutans, Gibbons, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, and a monitor lizard in just a half day trek! As well as being visited daily by the local Macaque troop and several large bats. Tia cooked us the most fantastic farewell dinner and we were genuinely sad to leave. Nothing was too much trouble for them ❤️

Sam and the whole Team are so friendly, they have accommodated all our last-minute changes and organized the night and day trekking for us. Food at the restaurant is delicious. The guide Zuhri was great, we made an amazing trekking in the jungle and could see the orangutan. We can only recommend the stay and related services, you will feel very welcome! :)

I loved the location, right in front of the river and at the end of the village.I had a room overlooking the river and the jungle , great location. The employee are amazing always ready to help and the ambience is very nice and relaxing. The food is very good, the chef is amazing there. They new about my allergy to gluten and they were able to bake some bread for me and also made gluten free pancakes...love it. They also organized my transfers and my 2 days trekking in the jungle and we had a fantastic time, Ichan ( I may spell it wrong) and his friend were great...we saw many monkeys and birds we also see a walking Orangutan .

The owner Reza is really lovely and speaks perfect English (with a British accent!). Tangkahan was a nice change from the much more touristy Bukit Lawang. We especially enjoyed our jungle tour, including tubing on the river, it was one of the most magical moments of our trip!! We also enjoyed mingling with locals and bathing at the nearby riverbank. You should definitely not miss out on this more remote part of the jungle!

Our stay at Hotel Orangutan and visit to Bukit Lawang was the highlight of our trip and one of my favorite places I have ever visited.  First, our trekking guides Amin and Holland were exceptional and our experience seeing the orangutans was magical.   Abdoullah, our driver was also excellent.  Easy to communicate with, an excellent driver, and a very pleasant, interesting man.   Staff at the Hotel Orangutan, including Vyca, were very pleasant, good fun, and helpful.  Everything was very well organized.   Anastasia, who helped organize our trip was excellent- considering our flights, dates and plans changed 3 times!  Bukit Lawang is so charming.  We had great food, many monkeys, and music in resturants every night.  The people were so nice.  I cannot recommend a trip to Bukit Lawang and Hotel Orangutan enough.

the property and hosts were beautiful! I lovely little chalet - it was such a great experience in butik lawang, I was very lucky to be a solo traveller and the hosts, Sarah and brain couldn’t do enough to accommodate me, they helped me with my planning, with my laundry and even to get to my early bus! Sarah offered to give me breakfast earlier so that I had food before my early bus! they were so helpful, it made me feel like home! what a lovely experience !!! highly recommend this as a place to stay!
