The peaceful Ubud of old has gone, and the artistic centre of Bali, is but a memory!! Regrettably, the Seminyak/Canggu crowd have discovered it, and traffic is terrible, with Jalan Monkey Forest a wall of cars and motorbikes in the evenings. The corner of Jalan Monkey Forest and Jalan Rays rivals the Ginza in Tokyo for crowds!! The main roads from the south, and to Tegalalang, are frequently car parks, with no movement for extended periods. The early morning market along Jln Raya, opposite the palace, is worth a visit, but it's all gone by about 0900, so be early. Restaurants are plentiful, generally good, although I haven't eaten at them all, and probably the best area for concenrated restaurants, is Jln Goutama, also known as Eat Street. I go there for nostalgic reasons, having first visited in 1979, but nowadays stay only one night enroute north coast to Kuta via Kintamani. I do recommend Fair Warung Bale, #6 Jln Sri Wedari, a five minute walk from the palace, as a place to eat. The food is good, great staff, and the reason for their being is that all profits go to providing medical services to the poor!! I eat there at least once every visit.
Ubud has serious traffic congestion and crossing the road becomes a practiced art. Pavements are a real problem as they are narrow and badly broken up, tripping hazards are commonplace. The roadside kerbing is much higher than normal so for anyone struggling with any type of walking disability, beware. Basically there are just too many tourists and day trippers which makes for even more traffic and crowding. Feels like I should have come here 25 years ago and would have found a completely different vibe. Taxi journey to and from the airport took two and a half hours through stop-start heavy traffic and a million scooters.
The area was too busy for us, maybe because we stayed right in the centre of ubud although it’s very convenient to reach places we want to visit. But people are lovely. A lots of unforgettable cultures performances and events and we felt safe. Our Bali Dinner experience at SUN SUN WAROENG was excellent and would definitely going back to visit again.
Traffic in Ubud is worse towards the evening, Govt really should plan for any bye-pass to those travellers who are passing through only. We had food in few places where veg food was available. Getting around by Bike Taxi is the best way and it should be promoted actively by Govt. Visited Tirtha Empul temple, and next time would plan for Mt Batur. Monkey forest is waste of time but gain good amount of Oxygen. Balinese house visit is typical, some knowledge gain and some money drain to buy / drink the coffee. Swing / rice terrace is good photo opportunities, but if you have vertigo issues, knee issues, then just stay put at the top and have some snacks/juices.
Ubud is a truly enchanting destination that captures the heart of Bali’s culture and natural beauty. Surrounded by lush rice terraces and tropical forests, it offers a perfect balance of tranquility and vibrancy. The local people are warm, welcoming, and deeply connected to their traditions, making every encounter feel genuine. The food scene is exceptional, from authentic Balinese dishes to creative modern cuisine, reflecting the area’s rich cultural roots. Ubud’s blend of art, spirituality, nature, and hospitality makes it an unforgettable place to experience.
Everyone should enjoy Ubud at least once in a lifetime don’t just drive through stay and explore the more you see the more you’ll fall in love with the place and people,it will give you a lifetime of smiles
We stayed in a villa with a private pool and it was one of the most gorgeous hotels we’ve stayed at. It was so clean and beautiful. The pool was lovely and the trees/plants enabled total privacy. The bed was comfy and overlooked the pool, which was so lovely to wake up to. The bathroom was big and spacious and the air con was amazing, kept us cool throughout the night. We really did not want to leave. The staff were amazing and so kind/professional at all times. Thank you so much!!

We stayed at Villa Mirah Ubud (two bedroom villa with private pool) as a family of 4. Our kids loved the pool. We have a baby and first step in pool was wide. It was great for him to stand on water and play. Mostly pool was on shadow. That was also great point. We loved the breakfast. Lots of options and so tasty and quality food. We also ordered lunch and dinner to our villa. It was great taste. They offer laundry service for 15k/kg. The rooms were so big. They provided also baby cot.
This resort is the most beautiful and intimate resorts, if you want to avoid big hotels like Hilton & Ritz Carlton, then book resorts that are locally owned such as this one. I personally despised big hotels, this was by far the best resort to fully experience Bali. Located in the heart of Ubud, deep in the jungle, the serene sounds of the jungle at night and during the day being near the locals rice fiends. The hotel also has free shuttle that is literally 8 min away from Ubud Center.

Beautiful two-bedroom villa with private pool, has everything you need for a family, amazing view from the terrace, very relaxing place! Kids are so happy here. Komang and Wayan are great host - villa was clean every day. We had a day tour with Komang and he was very attentive. Wayan does the best massage I had in Bali - she definitely got magic hands! Plenty of great restaurants and eateries within walking distance and central Ubub is easy to get to.
The hotel is very beautiful and we had a very relaxing couple the days here. We had a 2 bedroom suite with private pool, it was beautiful inside but unfortunately a huge building site next door was disappointing (I am sure for the hotel too). The bedrooms etc though were amazing. We didn't have sunbed sin eth suite which surprised us but the hotel did bring some in for us. The breakfast was good and the location good too.

The wooden villas are new, clean, with a comfy bed, big bath tub. Surrounded by beautiful garden immersed in nature. The staff were nice and helpful. The pool is overlooking small river and jungle. Really nice location beacuse it’s a bit out from Ubud Central (less traffic to reach especially holiday season). You can find the location through google map. The hotel provides shuttle service to Ubud Central tho. Quiet and peaceful resort.
Ubud
It was the best accommodation of my life. From the first second to the last, the staff have been exceptional especially Dika, Wayan, Erika and Basu. It was so relaxing, we had the 2 bedroom villa with private pool - just a dream. And the food was always better than somewhere else. Afterwards we went to a Hilton in Nusa Dua, … we were so disappointed of it. We should have stayed in Aryas Villa and just do a day trip to the beaches.

We loved everything but the Wonderful people of the reception team the most! They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, they were extremely friendly and helpful!! Our villa was beautiful, like a little paradise! It is a bit far away from Ubud center so we always needed a shuttle that the hotel provides! All together it was a wonderful experience, highly recommended! Thank you!
Everything!!! The staff being the best. It was better service than the best 5-star hotels I have stayed in. The breakfast is incredible. Best food in Ubud. The villa itself is gorgeous and decorated with extremely good taste, class and elegance. The hotel is outside the main stretch of super busy Ubud but still walkable to everything. I cannot recommend this place enough.
We had a Deluxe Villa with private pool which gave us lots of space and a lovely calm space to relax after a busy day of activities. The resort was a bit of a distance from Central Ubud area but still possible to walk it and the hotel offered a free shuttle to the centre. Even though it was on a busier road the resort itself felt like an oasis of calm and was very peaceful.
Swimming in the wide private pool overlooking the jungle was one of the best moments in Bali. That was a perfect view. Sunset view was crazy!!! ❤️All staff was friendly and nice. We got room service everyday and all food were very delicious. We were impressed. The price of food was cheaper than another hotel in NUSA DUA but taste was much better :)
This hotel was just fabulous. We had a room with private pool which you must do simply for the views, it was just stunning as you can see from unedited picture. Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. The food was the best we had in Bali, so tasty and fresh ingredients. The hotel helped us with transport getting around.
Every aspect of this hotel was executed flawlessly. The grounds were impeccably maintained, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had and in a stunning setting. This was the perfect hotel for our honeymoon in Ubud, and we hope to visit again soon!

Everything was incredible. Massive massive villa with private pool. Clean, comfortable and the most exceptional friendly helpful staff in every way. We extended as we didn't want to leave it was that amazing. Best stay in Bali throughout our travels. Highly recommend
Wow! Amazing hotel, we had a villa with private pool. The rooms, staff, restaurant and hotel areas are all incredible. Staff are so friendly and helpful, they make you feel special. Everywhere you look is just stunning, like an Instagram post.
We have rented the 2 bedroom villa with private pool. The location of the Villa is great, 30 minutes walk to the Sacred Monkey Forest and to the centre of Ubud. Staff is really helpful. Very spacious, private pool was cleaned every day.
Villa with Private Pool - the resort offers all the benefits you could want - excellent accomodation, good food, and even a free shuttle into Ubud - the staff could not be more attentive - 5 star property
Ubud
EVERYTHING! This is the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in and even better than most other airbnb and hotels in Bali. The rooms are spacious and clean with double beds in the bunks!

Everything… service, room, private pool, public pool, hospitality of the people, availability at anytime, activities… one of the best hotels I’ve ever been to. Thank you
