The location is really breathtaking, we were the first customers of the structure which had just opened that week. Amazing design and great services there is internet working fast and efficient and hot water. There is no diving center but those nearby based in Gam island can easily pick you up on the morning. The room was stunning, coherent with the surrounding environment as it was all wooden made, the perfect place to feel completely immersed and connected with nature. The sound of water is so relaxing and the view is difficult to describe with words. The chef is great! They serve food directly at the room or at he restaurant in case you feel like chatting with other guests! The lovely thing is also the fact that this lovely lodge is located in Friwen island a small island of 1 sqkm inhabited by a local village, which allows you to experience the real culture of the area. Local people are very kind and welcoming, we were there during New years holidays and we were lucky to experience the traditional night drumming from the village auspicious for the coming year. Rachid and Ekha are very fun, polite and willing to arrange small excursions, we went birdwatching on Gam island looking the for the paradise bird and he brought us with the boat for a ride among the mangroves and snorkeling with turtles. WOW! Will definitely gonna go back!

The homestay is idyllic and secluded. We were right on the water, the porch is nicely decorated, there's a table and chairs so in the evenings we could easily play cards. In the day, if we weren't diving with Corepen (they come and collect you and drop you off), we would snorkel on the coral reef in front of the homestay which is fantastic! We saw a turtle, ray, squid, clown fish, a shark etc. All three meals are included and Lina's cooking is amazing. We would eat fresh fish everyday. Portion size is very generous so you won't be going hungry. Lina and Arnes are so kind and gentle hosts we couldn't recommend this more. Their English is very limited so just make sure you download a translator app if you don't have data (there's no WiFi). The amenities are basic and you get electricity from around 6:30pm-10:30pm but for us, this only added to its charm. When we passed other homestays, we were always grateful for picking Efenli.

We enjoyed our stay at Amfriwen. The bungalow was clean, had a fan, a mosquito net and a little shelf space. The veranda and the view were amazing. The bathroom was outside and for us one of the better facilities during our stay in Raja ampat. The food was very simple but always enough. We enjoyed our stay and say thank you to the lovely family.

We spend a fantastic week at Aldejus Homestay: most of the time we were the only guests, but even if the both other huts are occupied, it's not crowded. The huts are nicely furnished, with mosquito net and one hammock on the terrace and you have your own bathroom. The food is very good, no problem for vegetarian food or a birthday cake and even cold beer is available. Electricity is switched on for the whole night, so the fan can work also the whole night. It's very quite, there is a small village on the island, but it's some 100 m away. Very nice beach, and snorkeling is fantastic, whether on the very big house reef, or even better at frewen wall, the next island. It's a bit sportive to go there, but it's worth to do it. We saw turtles, bat fishes, small sharks and twice wales ( from the beach). Diving is possible via Tarzan Diving. Communication with Alex via what app very easy. Diving is possible via Tarzan Diving.

Closeness to nature, which is still unspoiled. Lots of birds, fishes and ofcourse the marine life that is easy accessible from PapuArts Alter Native Stay. Family feeling; easily to feel at home with this lovely family of four (Helga, Timon and their 2 beautiful young daughters who love to make friends). Oh, and I forgot their two sweet dogs Ringo & Dingo 🐾🐾 Owners are very helpful and speak several languages so easy to communicate with them. Internet is sometimes a bit unstable so take that into account when expecting speedy replies (sometimes it just doesn’t work and patience is a good thing to have). The food - home style cooking (breakfast, lunch and dinner are all cooked by the owner and her team and she is a great cook; we loved every meal which was perfectly catered to our vegetarian / pescatarian wishes) The rooms are close to nature as well, with very comfy beds (we stayed in both the smaller and the biggest family room, which easily fits 3 respectively 4 people; the 3rd bed in the smaller room has a wonderful treehouse feeling and there is a bunkbed in the biggest room). Hard to capture the beauty of the rooms in just one picture (I took several but could only post one here with my review). You can hear the sea and birds from your bedroom. It’s right next to you. No frills, just natural materials, which we loved. Also no warm water, but easily to get used to. There’s a shower and mandi style shower. Also your own toilet. Plus the blue blue sea right at your doorstep and a lovely sitting area with a hammock to complete the zen-feeling. There’s a long jetty into the sea with a perfect spot for exercise/meditation/yoga at the end. Fitness with a view! It’s quiet and feels very private. You instantly feel relaxed here. Different excursions to choose from, both on land and on/under the sea. Please note: these come at an extra cost and Raja Ampat area is not cheap!!!! I only stayed here one night but it had a good prize considering the beautiful beach front and the AC. Meals are pais apart but it is not expensive. They offer you water and coffee all day. People working there are really nice. They have several cabins but the place has enough space not to feel too close to your neightbors. The deck is also really nice; beach is flat and warm and mostly sand, so it is not a snorkling place.

Exceptionally great staff. Property with great access to good house reef. Spaced out and Nicely set out grounds in peaceful natural surroundings. Standard of accommodation high. Fabulous beautifully cooked lunch and supper. Only open a year and still developing and will only get better I think. Staff will help manage your ferry transit and arrange trips to suit your personal interests.

A great dive centre with a good dive master (Jerry) which made our dives enjoyable. Food was always aplenty and the amenities were the best we had stayed at, with our own shower, toilet, fresh and hot water. The reception was helpful in answering any questions we had and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Remember to drink plenty of water, homestay has a dispenser in the room. All boat trips from homestay extra cost, Yeabuba Jetty a great snorkeling spot.

Raja Ampat was a dream!

Raja Ampat was a dream! We couldn't be happier with our stay! Methos, Jonas (our guide), and the family were super super nice to us, and made our trip a dream! We did all the "excursions" with Methos, while Jonas was our guide. They were super flexible and nice with it, and snorkeling was amazing! We saw reef sharks, big turtles, manta rays, and all the different fishes and corals. Absolutely amazing! The homestay is also amazing! It is in the water, and we saw most days dolphins passing by early in the morning and late in the afternoon. We could watch the sunset from the balcony! We stayed for a week there and we felt we needed at least a week more! Small tips and things to take into account. There is no wi-fi, but the 4G works quite well. You can take this time to disconnect, but if not, make sure to have a big internet package plan. The bathroom/shower is with a bucket. Very different, but we got used to it very quickly and was quite nice to have this different experience. There are no fans/ac, so it might get a bit warm at night. Most nights we had a bit of rain, which made the temperature perfect :) All in all, would 100% go back and it made us fall in love with the place. I hope to see you soon Methos and Jonas!
