City centre crammed with tourists. Dirty and run down in places. Despite terrible incidents if youths attacking tourists, drugs issues etc absolutely no police presence. Visit to Pearse street police station due to incident was encountered by a 3 hour wait with no one available on the counter snd a queue of people equally unattended for 3 hours - most who gave up and left. Dublin is large enough to absorb its many tourists and has excellent sites to see. If you want to find our what a pub scene is like, it is there to be found. Dublin is a wonderful city. We enjoyed our tour guide of Trinity College and Library and the Book of Kells, it was awesome! Also the tour of the Jennie Johnson ship parked outside and the Irish Immigrant museum were excellent! We enjoyed a local pub Divette's and felt welcomed! Great music our last night!
