Nice room, very good bed/mattress, good lighting in every spot of the room, spacious bathroom, hanging space for clothing (including a vertical, easy to use, iron), a safe big enough for a small laptop, large workdesk/table. Very quiet room (a main, important point in my list of requirements for short/long term accommodation), thick curtains, luminous, clean, elegant, comfy (including two comfy chairs). Rich, and high quality breakfast, with fruits, legumes, milk, yoghurt, etc, with two options (continental cold/warm).

We flew overnight from Boston, Massachusetts and the hotel had our room ready early. We really appreciated that. The staff was outstanding in every area. The hotel was clean and comfortable. After walking around the city center, we came back to the hotel and enjoyed a late. snack and drink. One night we were too tired to go out so we ate dinner in the hotel and it was delicious and the service was great. The breakfast service was excellent.

FAQs about hotels in Dublin

Great History, Greenery & Pubs

Dublin is home to more than a quarter of the entire Republic of Ireland’s population and was originally founded as a Viking settlement. A lot has changed from those Viking days, and Dublin is now famous for its literary history and the most green spaces of any European capital, making Dublin a real Irish gem.

Dublin Castle is at the heart of the city's history and Trinity College houses the renowned Book of Kells, a beautifully illustrated manuscript from circa 800 AD. The Ha’penny Bridge is the city’s most photographed landmark and the statue of Molly Malone celebrates the heroine of Dublin’s unofficial anthem.

Dublin is home to many important literary figures including Oscar Wilde, William Yeats, Samuel Beckett and George Bernard Shaw. As the famous location of James Joyce’s “Ulysses”, the city offers tours tracing the protagonist’s footsteps.

As one of the youngest European cities, Dublin has vibrant nightlife with the popular Temple Bar area and plenty of bars and pubs, which invite you to stay out until the wee hours of the morning.

Dublin Airport is the gateway to your Irish vacation, so whether you’re looking for a stylish hotel, an independent apartment or a trendy hostel, Booking.com has a perfect deal for your Dublin trip.

Dublin was the worst of my travel experiences.

Dublin was the worst of my travel experiences. The accommodations were terrible, and the basic amenities were so poor, beyond the price, that I was shocked. I had to cancel my contract with great difficulty and spent several days in several hotels. The flight to Dublin was constantly delayed, disrupting my itinerary, and it was a total disappointment.

We parked the car and left it for 3 nights and walked or used buses / trams. Driving is slow and like many cities confusing for visitors. Dublin is quite expensive (over 30 euros for 4 drinks in a pub, 8+euros for a pint of Guinness) and eating out can add up quickly. Buses and trams a couple of euros per adult ride. The city centre is mostly walkable and some streets are traffic free anyway. Guinness Storehouse is very popular (surprise!) so book online for a timed entry before you go as it makes it easier to enter. We enjoyed it, about 2 hours or so and the included drink doesn't have to be Guinness, but it tastes good there. Book of Kells / Trinity College Library has timed entry tickets also and is also a couple of hours if you read a lot of the museum and Library info stuff. And you can walk around the College grounds. National Museum of Ireland maybe not worth the effort unless its contents are your specialism.

Most sites are within walking distance.

Most sites are within walking distance. It's a relatively young and neutral country, free of the warfare that ravaged Europe, so most of the historic architecture relate to the former colonial power. This has the curious effect of making the struggle for independence sound--in the mouths of the tour guides--like the most exciting thing that ever happened in Dublin. That said, there are other places nearby to visit.

Dublin has turned into such a kip, drug addicts lying on the streets taking drugs, dog mesh on the streets and just a general fearful vibe. You don't feel safe around the place. Everything is crazy dear also, from drinks to food. I'm from the country side so I am not a city lover anyway but Dublin is gone to the dogs. I've been to a lot of cities around the world and most are well kept, clean and inviting but Dublin is such a negative place.

It's way more touristy than I expected.

It's way more touristy than I expected. And this despite many good places for photos. The main draw seems to be the bars on Temple Street and Guiness Brewery. At places the city seems a bit run down or slightly dangerous. I read an article in the local newspaper about that Temple Bar region having muggers. I have never seen so many tourist shops anywhere in the world (sweatshirts, ball caps, frig magnets, etc) . I think it's worth visiting once, but I don't have any desire to go back.

Our Clayton Cardiff lane hotel stay in Dublin was comfortable & pleasant. It was exceptionally clean & we were able to use the leisure facilities, Pool. Jacuzzi & Sauna . The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was superb . The hotel is very convenient to 3 Arena where we attended the recent concert and it's not far out from the City Centre. I've stayed with Clayton several times and would stay again. I highly recommend this Hotel.

It was expensive considering it’s €17 Cab fare each way to the city. (Approximately 12-15 mins in car to city centre) very clean and comfortable though. Also cleaners were there dead on 11am and practically escorted us out the door, being in Ireland you would expect them to be a little friendlier, they barely said hi to us but walked out to lock the door after us, I found that strange for such a renowned friendly City such as Dublin.

Great stay in a cosy district. Clean hotel, fancy terrace on rooftop and much more. You can cook in big shared kitchens if yours in the apartment is too small for you. You can also enjoy the time in a living room located on each floor. Very kind and communicative personnel, and a good, cheap connection to city centre. Nothing more is required. I recommend this place for everyone visiting Dublin.
