This is a great base for touring the area but transport is required unless you are super fit for hiking or cycling! We stayed 3 nights which we thought was sufficient to cover the area. There are a number of independent shops as there are in other places in Ireland but good to see them, we have lost so many from our high streets within the UK. Just opposite the hotel is a deli that made great sandwiches to order at a reasonable price. Numerous bars in the area if you wanted to take in the ambience plus the hotel had a bar with a good selection of drinks. Gorgeous beaches loved that you could walk along the cliffs safely and easily for a 1.5 mile walk each direction right from town. Town looks a bit in disrepair at times. Kilkee was a good surprise for us
Kilkee was a good surprise for us As I'd never been there before I didn't know what to expect But I loved it great walking trails great restaurants and the people were lovely and friendly The beach is very safe for children and if you're a bit more adventures you can swim in the local spot.
