Roscommon has several diverse pubs and restaurants.
Roscommon has several diverse pubs and restaurants. Breakfast tends to open at 09:00 and service ends about 21:00. Pubs stay open till 23:00 or so weekdays and 01:00 on weekends. The circle K is 24 hours. Some pizza places stay open and serve till 23:30. It has several men's and women's clothing shops. Pharmacies and gift shops. Other dry goods and a Supervalue and Tesco. It is a very walkable town and both the Castle and Old Abbey are a few walking minutes from downtown. We ate at the Cozy Cafe( closed Sundays), The Rogue Cafe and The Pantry for breakfast. All were very pleasant. We liked Ryan's Bar. Quietish and Michael was a great host/barman. We had dinner at Regans, Jackson's and China King. ~€100 for three adults with wine. None of us had been here before.
None of us had been here before. We did the river tour to Clonmacnoise with Hidden Heartland tours, and despite the awful weather when we were there, we thoroughly enjoyed the trip. We ate at Thyme restaurant for one of the nights - fabulous. We now have some very good memories to cherish in the future, from the accommodation, tour and meal.Guest review byNoeletteIreland - 10.0

We have family in Roscommon so we’ve been there a few time, it’s a lovely little town with such friendly people. Everything you would need is all within walking distance it’s a great place to go for a short break, we stayed at the Abbey hotel so there was no need to use the car to go into town. Roscommon has more to show then what meets the eye, I particularly enjoyed my brief visit to the castle. On my return I intend to make use of the professional staff. Room was very comfortable, and quiet. You could arrange the window so that you stayed cool at night. Breakfast doesn't come with the room, but there are nearby places such as Gleesons which do breakfast from 0800 each morning. The window sill in the room, where you could sit and watch the sun rise, was wonderful.
