I lived in this town as a child, been back many times since and as far as I remember I've never been inside this hotel let alone stayed in it! I loved it. It was like stepping back in time but with modern-day comforts! The staff were welcoming, friendly, helpful, cheerful, and all-around lovely. The room was comfortable, of a good size, really nice and clean. The food was delicious regardless of the meal. There was parking around the back but no parking at the front unless you were there for less than 30 mins.

I loved everything. It's ideally located, less than 10 minutes walk from the centre of Listowel. Aoife was lovely, very welcoming. We would definitely recommend it

Carrig island lodge is in a stunning location with a gorgeous view of the castle, the house was absolutely immaculate and was fully equipped with anything you could of thought of like towels, shampoo etc.. as a family of 10 we all had loads of space in bedrooms and beds were so comfortable. Living in an island house was an unforgettable experience! At the entrance to the island, there's a medieval castle, and the bridge that leads onto the island is surrounded by water—at high tide, it feels truly magical! We were greeted near the house by the friendly dog, Roxy. The homeowners were exceptionally welcoming and attentive. For breakfast, we were invited to the dining room, where the tables were elegantly set. We were impressed by the beautiful china set and delicious homemade Irish breakfast. We hope to return on this charming island, where the delightful Roxy will be there to welcome us again.
