This is a very beautiful, tiny and quiet town in the refurbished historic house sits directly on the waterfront. It has a beautiful view up the fjord. The common area and kitchen were great for prepping food and sitting and reading. Admittedly, we were here at a quiet time in May, with only two other guests on one of the days we stayed. It was very warm and cozy inside when the wind was howling outside. The town is very small and the dining options are limited, but very good. We rode our bicycles from this location and found it a very convenient base camp for several days. We really had no direct interaction with the owners, but it was easy to get in through the lock box. Parking is easy.

The host was very nice! The little girl that was helping in the hotel did an amazing job serving everyone at dinner. De food was delicious and the bananabread that we bought the next morning was very good! We really loved how chatty and nice the lady was. This was totally worth the money and if i would go to the Westfjords again, we would 100% book this hotel again. :)

We spent three lovely nights with our kids in Jonas' guesthouse. We booked two rooms, they were located in the upper floor. Jonas is an amazing host and he is soon starting to renovate and stock up the guesthouse so I can imagine it will be even better once all work is completed :). Jonas made sure all guests are happy and communication was easy and nice. Our kids loved it so much, they didn't want to go home anymore. The common area was nice with the TV (in room TV didn't work for some reason) and the couch and the boardgames, we appreciated these things when we spent almost all day there on a very windy and rainy day. There's a terrace with a BBQ and a small kitchen that guests can use and it even has a fridge if you bring some own food to prepare or store. The view is super lovely and the location is perfect, parking just outside the guesthouse. We will definitely come again, maybe already next Summer :). We are looking forward to come again.

This seems to be a place where many people return having been here for camp or vacation as youths, like the migrating birds, they come back. It had that feel to it, but one puts up with more in youth than one can in older age. The access takes much longer than it seems or than GPS will have you think. Plan accordingly. Your cell phone may not have signal unless in a populated area. The “highway” to get here is a ROUGH one! We lived, and drove, in Canada, Spain, Portugal Norway and Colorado- these in Westfjords were by far the worst gravel roads ever: yay, Iceland!! You win!! You have to bring your own supplies and food in many cases. Plan accordingly. Gas up when you can, never going below 3/4 tank. The roads are mostly gravel and usually narrow. But the location is pristine, minus the sheep dung and probably bird doo, but those are a minor thing. Seeing the almost-midnight sun dipping into the horizon there is a marvelous sight. Seeing so many migratory birds ( and people) excited about arriving in their summer home- breathtaking.
