Bra is a charming boutique hotel that truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we checked in to the time we departed, the experience was warm, personalised, and seamless. Although we only stayed for one night, the thoughtful gestures made a lasting impression — the hotel surprised us with lovely gifts for our children and arranged a private spa session that was a highlight of our stay. Dinner on the rooftop was nothing short of spectacular. The quality of the food was outstanding, and the staff’s attention to detail elevated the entire dining experience. Every dish was beautifully presented and delicious. A special mention goes to the breakfast, which was served in an elegant and inviting space. The variety offered was impressive, and the service was attentive and genuinely friendly. Overall, Bra delivers a rare combination of sophisticated amenities and heartfelt hospitality. We would gladly return and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable and refined stay.

The hotel's location is excellent if you need to get to the airport quickly. It's literally a 3-minute ride on the FREE hotel shuttle. The hotel reception staff were incredibly polite and helpful. We arrived at 10:30 a.m. and it definitely wasn't check-in time yet, but we waited about 40 minutes and our room was ready. The receptionists didn't have to but they helped us check in quickly and efficiently and set off to explore the city as quickly as possible. Thank you for your kindness! The next day, the reception staff were also very friendly and printed out our boarding passes. Thank you again! The breakfast was excellent, the rooms were comfortable, and we definitely recommend this hotel!

Important Port of Saintly Significance

The Apulian capital Bari has been known for its port since Roman times. Nowadays there are 2 harbours:  cruise ships and ferries to Greece and Croatia depart from the new port, while the old port shelters fishing vessels.

Between them is a seafront road bordering the real attraction – the old town. Narrow, cobbled streets lead under arches to hidden piazzas with pavement cafes. Many are on adjoining Piazza Mercantile and Piazza del Ferrarese, where the old Roman road is exposed.

The imposing 12th-century Norman-Swabian Castle guards the west of the historic centre, and the simple Cathedral of San Sabino is from the same period. Equally understated is the Basilica of St Nicholas, housing relics of the saint. Pope John Paul II once prayed there, which may have given rise to Bari Airport’s name: Karol Wojtyła Airport.

Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the meeting point of the old town and the Murat district, built under orders of Napoleon’s brother-in-law. Facing each other across this street are the colourful façades of the municipal office and Piccinni Theatre, though most prestigious is the Petruzzelli Theatre opera house.

Booking.com’s Bari accommodation includes luxury hotels by the Fiera del Levante, cheap city centre apartments, and B&Bs near the train station. For families, the slides and swimming pools of Bari Acquapark make a great day out.

    Due to the weather conditions of the beginnig of October we could not go bathing in the sea but endless walks provide unforgottable memories. Picturesque views everywhere, lovely streets, delicious food, polite service, reasonable prices. Public transport is frequent, cheap and fast. Car rental is also available but I must take a remark on traffic and driving manner in Bari: comparing with Hungary Italian drivers have much more freedom of traffic rules. They are not fined for every little mistakes as we are in Hungary but still they don't kill anyone and drivers are still kind with one . another. Funny to see them just hoot a short warning the others they are coming. In my country they would be fined immediately even for hooting. So I just love their way if life by all means.

    Bari absolutely exceeded my expectations!

    Bari absolutely exceeded my expectations! The city boasts a remarkable blend of seaside charm, rich history, and local authenticity. The old town (Bari Vecchia) is fascinating — narrow streets full of life, the smell of fresh pasta being made, and friendly locals everywhere.

    The main attraction of Bari is the old town with the cathedral and the Basilica San Nicola. The Petruzelli Theatre was worth visiting even if you hate guided tours. Use it because of Ryanair flights from Scotland, and convenient for reaching other parts of Puglia by train or bus.

    Bari was an excellent first stop on my quick travels around Puglia. Bari vecchia oozes Italian charm, religious and sights to see, lots of great restaurants and cobbled laneways to while the day away and totally relax. A walk along the Harbourside is a lovely change of scenery and nearby Murat will allow you to shop till you drop. Everything is within walking distance and public transport was efficient and easy to use.

    Bari and especially Old Town possessed a Mediterranean...

    Bari and especially Old Town possessed a Mediterranean spirit that surprised us! The cuisine and especially the seafood offerings were outstanding. People were helpful and friendly and patient with those of us whose Italian fluency is challenged. We hope to return soon and spend more time in this charming city.

    Bari is such a beautiful city.

    Bari is such a beautiful city. It is really worth going, especially in September when the weather is similar to summer and there aren’t so many tourists. You really must go to Alberobello, Monopoli and Polignano a Mare. There are plenty of opportunities whether you want a sightseeing holiday or a sunbathing holiday. You can do both there!

    Wonderful stay, highly recommend. Rooms are located super close to train station and also around 15 minutes walk to the old town part of the city. Staff in the hotel is more than helpful, with easy check in and check out, tips about the city, everyday cleaning and order to room breakfast. It was perfect stay in Bari and I will be happy to come back and use this B&B again.

    The room design is perfect, very neat and clean. But the best part is milky who is the owner of the hotel. He is the kindest man, he always helped us from the beginning till the end of our accommodation. He always answered our questions and did his best.     Breakfast was great and was great to have the outdoor pool. Bus 27 to old town Bari takes about 15- 20 minutes so it is really accessible. Bus stop is around the corner from hotel and you can buy bus tickets at a cafe located there. Ask at reception. Overall the hotel was great and clean and spacious and the staff were really helpful and nice.

    Very nice and welcoming hotel, well located for a weekend visit to (old town of) Bari and its environment. Staff is very friendly and gave good tips for things to do or where to eat. Breakfast is original and very nice! We liked also the environmentally friendly type of approach!
