The apartment is perfectly located close to transport links (the train station is 5' walk) and the historic city center, and is surrounded by amenities to cover all needs; being in a gated area, it's also very quiet and private. On-site, secure parking is also available, which we took advantage of. The stay itself was brilliant: our hosts were in constant communication before and during our stay, and graciously checked us in for an earlier-than-expected arrival, and, furthermore, gave us a smattering of tips about places to visit (and, more importantly, to eat in). The accomodation is bright and airy, and way, way more spacious than expected; everything was immaculately clean and modern, and longer stays will be especially well-catered for by the ensuite appliances (coffee machine, kettle, fridge, which come with a stock of teas and coffee pods) and shared kitchen. Last but not least, the bed and beddings were as comfortable as can be, and, combined with the general peace-and-quiet, gave us some of the best sleep we've had on our trip across France and Italy. Refael and Avital made us feel welcome across our entire stay, going out their way to ensure it was our best, and they definitely did so, and more. Highly recommended!

Excellent place for car travellers, with a dedicated parking spot just in front of the apartment, which is all new one on the ground floor, spaciouos, high ceiling, clean and comfortable. It was a very satisfying stay. I would like to thank the suit's owner for the following things: (1) Being responsive before the arrival and just before getting the keys of the suit. (2) Clean and secure suit. Also, the house is in the middle of the centre and 10 mins from the train station on the walk. I was there to photograph several churches but found the city charming and could have enjoyed another day there. The Hotel Moderno right across from the train station was a great choice given its location close to the historic center, reserved on street parking, and proximity to the train station.

If you like interesting old churches and a lively town...

If you like interesting old churches and a lively town centre Pavia is a great place to visit for a couple of days. About 5 miles out of town is an amazing monastery complex. You can get there by bus or train but these methods required too much walking in the intense heat so we took taxis. Well worth a visit. Everyone friendly and helpful.

Pavia has wonderful medieval churches and a big museum at the Castello. The tomb of St. Augustine is amazing, and is a favorite stopping point of Pope Leo XIV. Boethius is also buried in Pavia. The city still keeps traditional Mediterranean hours (2-2 1/2-hour break midday), so it takes a day or two longer to see all the sites. We found good restaurants and would happily have stayed longer. It is said that April-May are the best months to visit, and it was already hot (80 degrees) at the end of May.

I've visited Pavia a few times.

I've visited Pavia a few times. In a recent visit, I went to the Museo Kosmos, the Natural History Museum. Founded in the 1700's it's one of the world's oldest museums dedicated to natural history, but with a modern vibe - apparently over 500 exhibits (I didn't count them!), multimedia games, videos, interactive activities for children. An excellent place of learning.

Pavia has a modern centre and the older part has some lovely buildings. Certosa di Pavia, an old monastery, is 9 minutes by train (don't forget to validate your ticket in the machine next to the platform entrance). Do check the opening times, though. Pavia would also be convenient for visiting other cities in the area

It was a great stop on the Via Francigena (on the route directly) and I highly recommend it! It’s just out of the city centre and like us, if you prefer a quiet area, this is perfect. A very nice big apartment that was clean and included a washing machine. It also has a kitchen and the supermarket is only a 10 minute walk away. It had everything we needed. Our host was super lovely and friendly and willing to assist us in any way. If we return to Pavia for a longer visit, this is where we’ll be booking.

This is a beautiful hotel right by the station in Pavia - the staff are so kind and friendly - we had a very early train and they opened the breakfast room for us at 5.15am and even offered to cook scrambled eggs for us - I have never been offered more than a soggy sandwich and water when leaving too early for breakfast before. There is a cozy bar area and sweets in the lobby.The rooms are lovely and the lift showers wifi are all great. We had a wonderful few days there.

I enjoyed an outstanding stay here. The room is very pleasant, comfortable and equipped to a very high standard. It’s convenient for the sights of Pavia and not far from the station. Above all, Avital is an excellent host. Her recommendations of local restaurants and cafes were just what I needed and really added to my enjoyment of Pavia.

The hotel was a stones throw from Pavia station and a few minutes walk into the main centre. Close to shops, restaurants, and cafes. Also, beautiful patisserie opposite and a laundrette. The hotel and the room were spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
