My wife and I took a November drive from from Naples-Lecce-Naples, with intermediate stops. One of them was in Tricarico. The Palazzo Laureano - Dimora Storica is a beautifully and recently restored mansion located right next to the city's cathedral. The restoration is superb. The Manager, Maria, met us at the door, checked us in, walked us through the ground floor and up to our room on the third floor. Five rooms are off a large and beautiful sitting area. The room offered a nice view to the west. It was spacious, spotless, and well-equipped. The photos speak for themselves. Breakfast was very good. On day three Maria gave us a tour of the Palazzo, including five of the twenty or so rooms, family suites and apartments. The hotel is owned by a chef in Rome, and he has collected most of the furnishings, including sculptures, carvings, and even a very nice (real) Model A Ford (!) in the lobby. In November the town is very quiet. Two good restaurants are nearby, and in each of them we were the only diners for much of our meal. (When Tourist Season ends in Tricarico, it ENDS!) Still, we walked the town easily, seeing the Convent with its beautiful murals, the Saracen Gate, the Norman Tower (closed for us), and the Cathedral. An hour away was the amazing abandoned city of Craco (look it up!), a must-see which can only be toured in a guided group. The E11 fee was money well spent. We had a great time in Tricarico, and we were sorry to leave the Palazzo.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this B&B for two nights in June 2024. It is very comfortable and has two bathrooms and a nice kitchen. It is conveniently located within a block from the local grocery store and walking distance from the piazza in Tricarico. In addition to the rooms being comfortable and conveniently located, the proprietor Filomena was a wonderful host and provided us with a two day tour of Tricarico. She and her mom are a wonderful side benefit of staying in this B&B. They have a beautiful garden that they invited us to use to sit and relax when we were not out and about walking around Tricarico. The garden was even better in person compared to the photos. Part of the reason we came to Tricarico was to obtain documentation of my father’s birth here in Tricarico and to connect with unfamiliar relatives. Filomena seems to know most people in town and personally brought us to the hall of records and knew the worker there who was able to research the information we had and provided us with the documentation we wanted. Filomena also knew some of our relatives and arranged for us to all meet. Filomena is amazing and is a true ambassador for Tricarico!  During our visit Filomena was our translator, our guide, our photographer and our friend. She seems to know many important individuals who were literally able to open doors for Filomena when she was taking us on a tour of Tricarico. I started to call her the “unofficial mayor of Tricarico” because she was able to gain us entry into churches that were not open and we were able to see things that we would never have seen if we did not have her as our guide.  We are considering a return visit to Tricarico, and if we return this B&B will be our top choice for a place for our family to stay.

Beautiful newly renovated small hotel. Spacious modern rooms, comfortable bed. Good location that allows arrival by car for baggage drop off and a near by parking area, which was very important to us since we were traveling with a 6 months old baby.

Located near the mountain top castle, this new BnB is clean and comfortable.

We loved everything, but especially our hosts and the very helpful people who live in the village. My car battery ran flat overnight and so many kind men came and assisted. It was a memorable stay, for all the right reasons. Accommodation was really lovely, and the food and coffee in the village was good too.

Francesco and Rosanna went out of their way to ensure our comfort. The apartment was lovely with wonderful views over the valley. We loved Pietrapertosa!
