We enjoyed a relaxing night at ShimaBlue. We are a family of four with two teenage children and whilst it was tight, we enjoyed some relaxing time in nature. The ONSEN on the deck was the highlight. There is not much to do In the small town so this is a great place if you need a rest! The BBQ dinner was amazing (note you do cook for yourself).

Hotel is set amongst flower and rice fields and near to Takumi no Sato, a small village with more than two dozen workshops and stores. Visitors can shop for or engage i.n the making of various Japanese crafts, including food samples and mask paintings. Free bicycles are available to explore the peaceful countryside. Amazing service Great staff, they are super polite, helpful and guiding. Shuttle service is available and quite flexible. Excellent onsen. Very clean, stylish. Sky bath is rocky, the view is breathtaking. Very clean facility. Food is very delicious. Many different stuff in one meal. You don't need a lunch actually. Breakfast is also quite loaded. Also they leave small Japanese sweets for afternoon :) Great ryokan experience, very comfortable beds, yukatas are very stylish and comfortable. View is amazing. The region is very nice for hiking.
