Considering this was my first trip to S. Korea, I wasn't sure of what to expect. The breakfast was not the typical "American" breakfast but was very tasty. The staff was super friendly and the rooms were kept very clean.

Honestly, I thought about changing hotels when I actually saw the (kind of) dilapidated building in person. HOWEVER, it wasn't like I was going to spend too much time in the hotel, so I decided the awesome location and affordability were enough. MAN OH MAN. Literally the best, most convenient accommodation I've had anywhere. Yes, the building is old but they kept it up very well; it was SPOTLESS and had obvious signs of love and care. The front door opens into a very spacious main area, where there is a queen sized bed and a convertible futon couch. The ensuite kitchen is well stocked with basically everything you would need to cook something simple, if you so chose, including a rice cooker, a microwave, stove, and there is also a washing machine. What i REALLY REALLY appreciated was their help with cleaning up. If you don't know, Korea is very strict about how to throw out garbage: you can't just dump everything out in one giant bag like us Americans. You have to separate hard plastic, soft plastic, paper, cans, glass, food waste, and the list goes on. I did make piles of those different categories but I had no idea what to do next. Do I leave them in the room? Do I call a service?? Especially I was worried about the food garbage I had been collecting in a gallon zip lock bag in the sink. Ew. On a whim, I decided to leave the "please make up the room" card on my door on the way out one day. It was like the 5th or 6th day of my 10 day stay, so there was quite a collection. I came back expecting maybe a note or instruction sheet telling me how to dispose of the garbage; instead I found EVERYTHING WAS GONE. They even did the dishes I had left in the sink after my morning coffee and forgot about. It was amazing. AND they made the bed and actually cleaned everything. When I refused housekeeping, on the other hand, they left a bag of bottled waters, fresh towels, and toilet paper by my door. EVERY DAY. I love this hotel.

We live in the country near Daejeon, so it was nice to spend...

We live in the country near Daejeon, so it was nice to spend the night in a big city. Korean food is very basic and cheap, there is not one restaurant that serves wine with their food in Geumsan where we live. Korean people are only interested in eating Korean food, so finding an international style restaurant in Korea is very difficult. So if you want to enjoy a Western-style meal, you have to cook it yourself at home. Luckily we were able to enjoy some Western-style restaurants during our stay.

I loved Daejeon even though I know it is not the favourite of Korean people. The food, the facilities, cleanliness, nature in the Hanbat Arboretum, visit to famous bakery Sang SimDang, even Daiso nearby, made for a lovely weekend trip. Even walking along the public Yuseong-gu clay paths was a neat experience. Of course Mega Coffee and Emart in Seo-gu was not to be missed! I picked up a very yummy mango-coconut snack!

Greatly enjoyed a short stay in Daejeon.

Greatly enjoyed a short stay in Daejeon. Explored the market west of the train station. Wandered the streets to the east of the station, with quirky cafes and at least one phenomenal Thai restaurant. Spent one night at the lovely Hotel Interciti, across from and overlooking, the Yuseon Foot Baths. Could easily have spent another 2-3 nights here, and wished I could have visited the art museum.

Daejeon was a very nice city and a person could do a lot of great shopping there if that’s their interest. I went to the Yousong Spa and had a great experience. There are quite a few sites just beyond the outskirts of the city too. The bus system was very easy to navigate as well. Mine was a January/winter trip so I didn’t get to see all the city has to offer. It is worth a return trip though.

We booked a suite which turned out to be a full-blown two-bedroom apartment with a huge and lovely bathroom, kitchenette, etc. Beds are huge and very comfy. The hotel is on a small and quiet street just off the big commercial axis which made it quiet but also very convenient for walking around and exploring the area. Parking available, many restaurants nearby. Breakfast was not exceptional but good and catered to both Korean and western needs, which was appreciated. Good (real) coffee at breakfast!

Central position, very close to the nightlife roads, big shopping mall and a lot of restaurant of any kind. Super staff, very helpful to give informations about local excursions . I use the hotel as a basis to visit the very famous “red clay barefoot trail”, easy to go by taxi, but only if the hotel can help You (taxi driver in Daejeon don’t speak enough english ). Many others attractions for barefooters are available on town, as well as Museum, Expo area and wonderful green areas.
