Very friendly and thoughtful family. We feeling myself like at home. It's truth. Seems likes arrived to a parents, which very happy, that you came. The territory is interesting, the house is simple , but there are all needed facilities. It was good sleep at night, doesn't warm. Tasty and fresh food. And of course people, everyone! Thank you!

Breakfast was exceptional and included, the evening meal was outstanding, order your drinks so they have them in, our preference is bottled Lion beer and ginger beer shandy, refreshing in the heat I read other peoples reviews and I had to include this homestay in our trip, Hungama doesn't attract the usual tourist but it was quite convenient to Yala and easy to access Bundala national parks. Our host, Sagara, took an hour out of his day to walk with us which was interesting and informative..

Amazing location as the property was in beach front, with a little gate giving access to the beach. Due to being low season we are the only guest but the quality of the stay was not impacted, and the host was amazing. Swimming pool is modern and it was clear even if it was just for us. The room was clean , spacious and air conditioning was powerful. We recommend the local breakfast with sea view. Lunch and dinner was not possible during our stay but host recommended us 'Priya Moon Cafe and Seafood Restaurant' located 500m away and it was so good we came back during the second night.

I recently stayed at Igabara Hobbit House Rakawa, and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. The place is truly special — surrounded by nature, filled with greenery, and designed with a lot of creativity and care. The atmosphere is peaceful, making it a perfect escape from the busy city life. The room was very clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated in a unique hobbit-style design that makes you feel like you’re in a little hidden paradise. The garden area and pool are well maintained, and it’s such a nice spot to relax, read a book, or enjoy a quiet evening. The staff were extremely kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything needed. They made sure everything was comfortable during my stay. The location is also great — just a few minutes away from the beach, so you can enjoy both nature and the sea. Overall, it was an unforgettable stay. I would definitely recommend Igabara Hobbit House Rakawa to anyone who loves peaceful surroundings, friendly service, and a relaxing atmosphere. I’ll surely visit again! 🌺✨

We had a fantastic stay at this family-run hotel! The location is great—very close to the beach and within walking distance of Turtle Beach, where we had the unforgettable experience of watching giant green turtles lay eggs. The hotel is spotless, and both breakfast and dinner were exceptional, offering a mix of authentic Sri Lankan dishes and classic Western options. We had such an amazing experience during our three-night stay. Location : Hotel is perfectly located, away from roads and city. It is not in heart of Tangalle, but it is what we liked, being in full nature, isolated from rush. Everything is accessibl with tuktuk, or you can rent a scooter through the hotel (that was we did for 3k rs per 24h). Several beaches and views around the hotel in walking distance. We chilled at the hotel, few intimate spots with sofa, sun beds, mostly with shade we need. The pool is incredible. A bit of Azulejos style. Room : Our room was perfect, clean, very good wifi, best room view ever with a 240° on the ocean. Huge balcony, very large, comfy bed, good bathroom installations. Robust and recent air conditonning, with a silent night mode. Big cooling roof fan working well and silent as well. Food & service : Hotel staff is kind and professional. A high level of hospitality service. Varied food, at reasonable price, which is not the case everywhere around. We had few lunches and dinners there. Finally, breakfast is delicious, with full of options : fresh fruits, different teas, coffees, even expresso (we didn't try, because we asked only tea during our stay in Sri-Lanka, Sri-Lankan style with different options, oat & fruits like a DIY porridge, pancakes, freshly break with butter and jam (good quality product, tasty). We are vegetarian, so we had many options there.
