This place is truly a honeyland. The drive to the hotel offer beautiful views (see photo attached). We were met with great hospitality and kindness. The family was very welcoming, and their presence created a comfortable and homie atmosphere. The breakfast and dinner was great. Our room was in a new building on the property (see second photo below). It was big and luxurious, and exceeded our expectations. I would like to thank the Honeyland family again for our stay, and their kindness.

Immaculately maintained property. Gorgeous panoramic view from the room and balcony of mountains and lotus ponds. Spot egrets, parrots, butterflies and apparently loris. You can enjoy a late afternoon walk around the lake after a cooling swim in the pool. Return for the sunset and delicious rice & curry.

Cannot thank the staff enough. We had the best 7 days on Sri Lanka thanks to their amazing hospitality. The room was massive and we had 2 interconnected rooms that were very clean and well maintained. The food was incredible and well worth paying for half board. My kids asked if we could stay forever! This place will have a little place in our hearts and I honestly cannot recommend the place enough. Thank you

Pradeep and his family who runs the hotel are very genuine and friendly persons who do their best to make sure your stay with them are great. When we firs came Pradeep took us with him to watch the sunset from one of the fields nearby. He showed us around their farm and told us about the different trees and vegetables they grow. Breakfast and dinner are Sri lankan, very tasty and well prepared. Overall it's a place with a very family friendly atmosphere and for us it was a great place to start our Sri lankan adventure.

This place was an absolute experience! The views were seriously breathtaking and most of all if you are looking to relax, connect with nature and have the best time disconnecting this is the ideal place. The food served was really delicious as well. Would recommend this 100% to anyone travelling solo or with a family.

Words can hardly do justice to how exceptional this place is. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that staying here was the perfect choice. We initially worried about the location not being in the center of Dambulla, but we quickly realized that this turned out to be the best possible decision. Nestled in the tranquility of nature, the homestay offers a peaceful retreat away from the noise and chaos of the city while still being convenient. The logistics couldn’t be better—just a short walk to the main road connects you to public buses that run every few min and can take you anywhere you need. Whether you're heading to Dambulla, Sigiriya, or beyond, getting around is effortless and budget-friendly. What truly sets this place apart, though, is Ruwan, the host. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect. His hospitality is unparalleled—he doesn’t just take care of his guests, he anticipates their needs. Whether it was helping us plan our day, organizing transportation, or sharing local tips, Ruwan was always there to make everything easy and enjoyable. One of the highlights of our stay was a guided walk with Ruwan around the local area. As he shared stories and introduced us to native plants, we felt like we were experiencing a side of Sri Lanka that most visitors miss. And then there’s the homestay itself. The view from our window was magical—we were waking up to stunning sunrises. The room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Every meal was a feast of fresh, home-cooked goodness, bursting with authentic flavors. Sitting down to enjoy meals prepared with so much care felt special. This isn’t just a place to stay—it’s an experience, a home away from home, and a gateway to discovering the beauty of Sigiriya and Dambulla. The saying "arrive as a guest, leave as a friend" couldn’t be more true here. Thank you, Ruwan, for making our time in Sri Lanka unforgettable. Highly, highly recommended!

Everything is beautifully designed and staff were great

What an amazing experience staying at this hotel. It felt like they had thought of everything from live music, magicians, music in the bathrooms and such a beautiful setting in the forest/jungle. The monkeys are so fun to watch especially the ones with the black faces. Yes this hotel is on the higher price point but it’s worth it for the atmosphere and attention from the many staff. Everything can be arranged by the reception with many experiences or a tuk tuk if you need to go to Dambulla. The buffet dinner is amazing with so much to choose from and of high quality and the buffet breakfast is delicious also.

One of the best stays of our 2 month trip in Sri Lanka! Best value for money. The room was spacious and clean, great shower with hot water, and breakfast could be enjoyed on the little veranda every morning. The bed was sooooo comfortable!! Location is a bit out of town which for us was ideal, since we enjoy going on walks and exploring our surroundings. The hosts were incredibly nice and attentive, and helped us to rent a scooter, and took us in and out of town when we needed. Sigiriya was just a short ~30min scooter ride away, Dambulla cave temple is just around the corner. For us this was the perfect end to our trip in Sri Lanka, thank you!!
