The best stay we had in our entire trip around Sri Lanka! Just can’t recommend it enough! Very clean room, big clean bathroom with hot shower and an amazing yard with lake view. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner and breakfast, some of the best meals we had. Lovely host and very attentive with our needs. Hardworking staff - the results are impeccable. They also arranged a wonderful safari trip, we would like to also thank Indika for making sure we have an amazing experience! Thank you Saffron Lake Yala! 🥰

The pool was clean, and the breakfast was very good. This place is quiet and beautiful, especially at night in the jungle. In the morning, it was fun to feed wild peacocks. The caretaker, Priyantha, was very friendly and even took us around the village on his small scooter.

Mamba Yala was one of the most spectacular and unforgettable stays of my trip. The location, right in the middle of the jungle, is absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the sounds of nature and being surrounded by wildlife made the experience truly special. The accommodation itself was stunning: a beautiful treehouse-style cabana with a private pool, an open-air bathroom, and a panoramic terrace on top of the treehouse – perfect for relaxing, stargazing, or just enjoying the jungle views. The staff went above and beyond and even prepared a spectacular dinner for us at their own expense, making the stay truly memorable. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring everything was perfect throughout the stay. If you’re looking for a unique and peaceful escape in Yala, this is definitely the place to be. Positive points: Spectacular jungle location Private pool and open-air bathroom Treehouse terrace with panoramic views Unique and authentic experience in nature Friendly and attentive staff Special dinner prepared by the hosts

We truly enjoyed our experience sleeping two nights at the tree house. The place is authentic and it’s just next to the border of Yala national park. For people who are looking for true Sri Lankan countryside experience near the jungle, this is the place for you! Excellent traditional Sri Lankan dishes cooked by their great chef complete your stay. The place can arrange great safari experience for you, including packed breakfast and having a private driver. If you are lucky enough your safari guide might be the first person who spotted the black leopard in Yala! We had his brother and he was also a great guide spotting many animals from crocodiles to elephants and smaller creatures of the park for us. He managed to find fresh leopard’s footprints, but this time we didn’t see a sight of wild cats. The owner is wonderful person who makes you feel like at home!

The location was beautiful, views over the rice fields with great sunsets. Very secluded and quiet which is nice in an area where there isn’t much else. Lovely place to relax by the pool after a long days safari. All the staff are lovely, attentive and happy to chat whilst they work to keep the place clean and managed. There is a restaurant on site doing good vegetable curries or they are happy to provide a local takeaway menu which provides all cuisines which is also really good. Would recommend planning in an afternoon with a beer overlooking the rice fields by the pool. Breakfast included and plenty to eat to keep you going and they do offer their own safaris if you haven’t already booked.

    Had a great stay at the hotel! Everything matched the booking price, and the staff were super helpful. The room was clean and cozy, with no issues at all. The location is a bit remote, but they offer a convenient ride for a fair price. Loved the peaceful atmosphere and had a good night's sleep. Would definitely recommend it for a relaxing escape!
