Once you enter the property is like stepping back in time, where modernity mixes with history in a very relaxing atmosphere, the staff is young and willing to go above and beyond of your expectation, nothing is impossible, a smile is guaranteed, bed are comfortable and rooms are super well equipped and really chic, food is very good and we cannot wait to come back good job guys!!! Andrew and his staff are amazing. They were always helping us out with everything and they were taking care of us like family. The room is spacious, modern and clean with air conditioning. The kingsize bed is great. The shower is wonderfull with all the toiletteries.There is fast wifi. The location is great, near the river with a incredible view. Their breakfast is amazing and delicous. With the dinner there was live music. The pool is great and has an amazing view It was an unforgettable experience to see all the elephants Thank you all for a wonderfull stay 10 out of 10

This was probably my first night truly close to the jungle a very cool and unique experience. You can hear all kinds of animals and insects at night, which makes it feel incredibly immersive. The cabin is nestled in a tropical garden, right inside the jungle. There’s also a swimming pool and a restaurant at their nearby hotel, and they take you there free of charge no pressure to order. One of the highlights was being able to see elephants from the pool and restaurant without paying any extra it was honestly magical. The host, Edward, was very kind and helpful. He even woke up early to pack our breakfast, such a thoughtful gesture.

    Pinnawala basically has 4 main attractions therefore a...

    Pinnawala basically has 4 main attractions therefore a maximum of 2 days is sufficient. The main attraction is the elephant orphanage. Related to that is the elephant bathing at the nearby river which is fascinating. Remember the ticket you purchase for the orphanage is required for the bathing so do both in the same day as the tickets technically only valid for the day (we did not know this so we went to the orphanage in the evening and went to see the bathing the next day.. however the kind ticket officers let us go). Then there is a mini zoo where animals roam in more space than usual. You can feed animals here which could be fascinating (for a small fee). Then there is a traditional village called Iparini Gama where you can experience live style of a traditional sri lankan village.

    Spectacular area to get up and close with elephants. Unique experience with elephants walking thru the village for their daily bathing. General accommodation facilities were good. Bars and eateries also of reasonable standard. We stayed at Grand Royal Pinnalanda and found this quite satisfactory in services and value.

    Amazing experience to watch the elephants bathing. A number of souvenir shops on the street and limited food options. We ate in our hotel. Shops don't stay open late as most tourists leave for the day. 1 night is enough.

    The staff were very obliging.

    The staff were very obliging. We arrived at 1am, this was not a problem and they greeted us warmly. Next morning we watched elephants in river from our balcony. The events coordinator took us to a place where we could walk and swim with elephants. He stopped on side of road on way back to try coconut milk. Wonderful staff. We found the breakfast not quite to European tastes.

    We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the complete hotel staff for their remarkable kindness and assistance, which undoubtedly enhanced our stay. We reserve special gratitude for Andrew, our tour guide, whose warm welcome and generous gesture of taking us on a village tour with his car left a lasting impression. Most notably, witnessing the elephants relishing their river bath was an extraordinary experience. The soothing sound of the river from our room added a truly relaxing touch to our stay.

    Peacock Village is a calm and cozy place located in a beautiful nature resort. The room itself was impeccable - clean, well-maintained, and decorated in a modern style. The village’s location is excellent, with close proximity to the elephant orphanage, a hotel resort offering amazing food, and the village center.     The location is excellent for seeing the elephants, they literally walk past the front of the hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Theres not much else to do in Pinnawala except see the elephants, and 1 night was enough. The air-con was very efficient and the bed was comfortable.
