Pros: Warm, welcoming, family-run setting makes it feel like home, perfect for those wanting to live the true local experience. Simple yet clean facilities, complete with hot water, Wi-Fi, and a fan—especially appreciated for a basic, rural accommodation. Flexibility in payment with international transfers to a Nepalese account, ideal if you use digital banking like Revolut or Wise (avoids the hassle of relying on ATMs). For around $115 USD, you get two nights’ stay, local meals, a couple of beers, and three diverse safari experiences (a walking safari, a sunset river trip, and a private jeep safari, which can be cheaper if shared). Limited activities besides safaris, so to make the most of it, you’ll likely want to book 2-3 safaris per day.

The manager was too good. Good insight into the National park. The jungle activities are too good. You will enjoy the local taste. Namaste 🙏🏼 I loved the ambience of the location as well as the services from the staffs have provided. The hotel is the closed one to elephant's breeding and Chitwan National Park gate. Beautiful sceneries and souls found around the area. Very natural yet indigenous. Not so many people speaks in English but obviously could feel they have had very warmth welcome to all the foreigners. Had to experience to be kept in the middle of the jungle, where i did my morning run/walk which leads me to enter the National Park alone myself without any permits on my hand. After made 4+ km walked inside the jungle i have then finally met group of people and asked if i was on the right direction as there no service/signal I found for my map. They're surprised that i could made my walk alone as it supposed to and must to have the guide with me with the permit as well. I didnt get this clear information at the first place until then they finally reached my hotel and had to give hard time to my hotel's owner, Dilip. He finally solved my issue with the Head Quater of Chitwan National Park where they insisted Dilip to presents at their office. Thank you for saving me Dilip, you are amazing!! 🤍 I had to write for a apologise statement letter to the Head Quater National Park officers for entered the jungle with nonpermit nor guide as it was not my intention to do so. Hence i declined to pay the cost of NP 2000 for permit. My journey was stopped at 8.15am at the army base camp, in the middle of the forest. As they kept me for almost 4hrs until they sent me back to the gate with guided by 4 of their armies and one local gy named Amrit who I found speaks Malay and safe as my translator as well. I have enjoyed my 4hrs spent there as i could experience with my own eyes how do they life in that base camp. They cooked the organics food and they eventually served and pleased me to had breakfast at 10AM with them!

The only reason to stay in Chitwan is to visit the national park, however, you can easily be ripped off by local guides and tour operators. Just shop around and remember that Jeep Safaris are a rip off because chanches of seeing any wild animal are extremely slim andyou end up spending 4 boring hours getting around the park. Make sure you know all options and talk to locals and tourist to find the best tour. I also recommend to visit the Tharu people site and see their dances, which is the best experience I had in this place

Make sure you visit the animal friendly project Stand Up 4 elephants! It’s free and you meet two rescue elephants ladies :) We did a full day jeep safari and a half day jungle walk+canoeing. We were lucky and saw a bear, a bison, wild elephants and rhinos. Lots of colourful birds, crocodiles, monkeys etc. but you need luck to see the big animals. It’s sad that it is allowed to ride elephants in the Nationalpark what is an absolutely animal crime and the idea of a Nationalpark is to protect animals and nature. Also, to make more money, they let start five jeeps with one or two guests in it instead of putting them together. So they need to make more efforts and be more eco friendly. It worth a visit when you are already in the country and have time. But two days are enough.

It was my second visit to Chitwan.

It was my second visit to Chitwan. I'll be returning again soon, to see more of what I haven't seen yet. I've, the crocodile breeding centre and the elephants. Plenty of places to choose from for meals. Easy to walk around the town, apart from where the streets are being improved. Plus, even when many tourists there, it doesn't seem crowded. Pleasant weather during my time there. Plus, I managed to see several football World Cup games, at different bars/restaurants.
