The property and welcome was faultless. The view of course is exceptional, but we were also welcomed with a friendly greeting on the door, food and drink treats, lights on, fire laid ready, hot spa, the most comfortable beds and pillows, and clear friendly instructions to ensure we had just the best stay possible.

We liked everything Matakauri had to offer. The staff were more like friends and treated us like family. Sitting in the lounge in front of the fireplace enjoying the view of the mountains was absolutely stunning. AND the food was fabulous!!

This comfortable guesthouse was perfectly positioned in Queenstown yet still quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was lovely and quite generous, the never-ending lolly bar was very welcome as was the free mini bar but the highlight was afternoon drinks - such a lovely opportunity to meet fellow guests over a wine or beer and delicious snacks. The staff are friendly and welcoming

The team was very helpful and the facilities were excellent. Very convenient location to get the bus up to the mountain each day. The owner even droppped my ski boots to me at the airport after they were left in storage! Thanks for a lovely stay, we'll be back next year!

All the amenities were functioning and well maintained. The room size was good. The breakfast spread was pretty decent. The restaurant was nice and all day pizza was available. There were plenty of nice restaurants, convenience stores and sightseeing options nearby. The gym and sauna were useful. Parking was available and convenient. The room was super value for money.
