    Coromandel was the nicest place we visited on the Coromandel...

    Coromandel was the nicest place we visited on the Coromandel Peninsula. It is a charming and unspoiled historic town. There are some good restaurants there too. We recommend the Star and Garter Hotel and the Turkish restaurant was great.

    Town's friendliness. The town cat, Helen Clark. The main hotel, pub with its history and well priced Aperol Spritz. The 2 restaurants we went to plus the fish and chip shop. The nearby secluded bays and beaches. The train up the hill.

    You need to be invested in water sports, boating or fishing...

    You need to be invested in water sports, boating or fishing to really get the best out of this town. Long Bay is a good spot for swimming, but I would recommend only at high tide. We went at low tide and walked over 200 metres from shore and the water was still only thigh high. Would be great for younger kids as there is little to no wave action. Kauri forest walk was great, and the walk around Long Bay shoreline was scenic. Weather was showery, but very humid, odd for Mid February. Shop prices were on a par with Wellington which surprised me considering we could not get an Americano coffee anywhere!! The 4 Square is a gold mine - everything we needed we got there. The best shop in town!!

    We really enjoyed Pepper Tree Restaurant and the Top Pub meals, seafood was stunning. Recommend Anchor Lodge to stay - really comfortable. Lots to do no matter your aga and ability - beaches stunning - we didn't want to leave

    We only stayed one night on our way from Auckland to Rotorua...

    We only stayed one night on our way from Auckland to Rotorua. This was the perfect stop over as the roundtrip on 25 road brings you to beautiful places on Coromandel Peninsula. We had fresh mussels in town at pepper tree which were delicious. Not sure if we would recommend for a longer stay. Not that much to do.

    We had such a nice stay - a true authentic B&B experience. Judy and Gerard are really friendly hosts who we really enjoyed chatting to, and they provided great local knowledge for walks and things to do in the area. Excellent location on a lovely property and a short drive into Coromandel town for cafes/restaurants, our room had a very comfy bed, and delicious breakfast with homemade breads and fruits from the property. If you’re staying in Coromandel, look no further than Jacaranda Lodge!

    The location and the extras that you don't generally get at most hotels or resorts or any accommodation in my experience anyway e.g guitar which I love to play ! Generally the comfort and basically the feeling the host was trying to make whoever was staying here was looked after stylishly with their personal taste which my wife loved and of course the million dollar views but at a most reasonable price with a homely feeling Highly recommend for anyone looking for lovely getaway

    Well fitted out kitchen with all you needed to self cater successfully, comfy double bed, excellent shower. Easy short walk to access Coromandel Town facilities and also easy access to forest and wharf walks. Excellent parking. We’d stay there again.
