CanadaEverything was lovely and the views from the unit were amazing. Our bedroom was great with a comfortable king bed and great shower/bathroom. Everything was very clean and the hosts were very friendly without being intrusive. We were the only guest so had the common area to ourselves as well and enjoyed the excellent included continental breakfast. Highly recommend The Salty Bushman for your stay in The Catlins.

CanadaAmazing location and view. Modern with every amenity. Appreciated the light breakfast/fruit and coffee as only one restaurant in town and not opening until noon. So relaxing with the ocean views,smells and sounds. Lovely beach walk.

SingaporeApartment had wonderful views, was spacious, and clean. Kitchen utensils were top-notch, knives were sharp which isn’t usually the case! Host was frequently in touch before my stay, and it was very helpful to point out that the only restaurant in town was closed on Sunday, so we could be prepared well before we arrived.

United KingdomJenny was so very welcoming (I didn't have the opportunity to see Mike but I'm quite sure he would have been too!). Wonderful comfortable unit with sea view. Couldn't have asked for more. Very handy for exploring the Catlins but I would recommend to also just take the time to relax at this very special place.

I would stay here again in a heartbeat, I wish I could live in this apartment! Also Laura was very helpful when we had to rearrange our booking due to flooding.

AustraliaThe views!! Our room looked south and we revelled each morning in throwing the curtains open to watch the beach come to life. The room is bright, cozy, clean and bed super comfortable. Stayed for a week and did day trips - were calling it ‘home’ each day as our sanctuary to wind down.

IrelandThe guesthouse felt so homely. 😁 The decor was unique and it was like stepping back in time! Gorgeous delph and we loved sipping tea in the bay window! The bed was so comfortable. We only wished we could of stayed longer. Gill was so lovely and flexible with check in 🙂

Kaka point is a perfect base for visiting the Catlins if you have a week because then you can make day trips to the many waterfalls, beaches, lighthouses and historical sites without rushing or getting exhausted. The whole of the Catlins is a treat for locals and international travellers alike. Be captivated by the beauty of the landscape and wildlife, while soaking up the quaint, sleepy town feel of Kaka Point. New Zealand has wonderful wildlife and environmental protection laws for native flora and fauna. If you're looking for an ethical way to see animals in nature, this is the way to do it. A lovely beach with a cafe/shop/restaurant so ideal for families. Easy to reach nugget point from there. Bear in mind it’s at the eastern end of the Catlins so if you want to explore places further west, eg Curio Bay, you will have quite a drive.
