My husband and I have been coming to Twizel for several years now. My husband comes for the fishing and I for the photography. We have stayed in all seasons. This time it was July middle of winter. Didn't catch any fish but I got some great photos. Had a lovely meal out at Poppies. Would recommend them. Cute, small town with the most amazing scenery.
Cute, small town with the most amazing scenery. The town itself is very small, but offers so much with scenic walks, activities & the locals are super friendly. We had dinner at the Razza Bar - a small, old school bar with the best atmosphere & great food. The owner was really friendly and told us all about the lord of the rings filming and where we could find the area where the fight scene was filmed which was very cool. It was just right for us because we do not ride bikes or do sports which could keep others another day. The town is lovely. The restaurants are great. Walked to the river and we were the only people there. People nice too. There is an olympic clean new looking pool there and if a warm day I suggest using it.
