The environment was fantastic. The staff excellent. The resort does not cater for food directly but there were different restaurants dotted around the resort to pick and choose from. Walking distance to Local shop just outside the resort's gate for all other needs. The staff were so helpful and excellent WoW!!. The beach was great. The weather was not too cold nor too warm during the Christmas period, there was no need to have any jackets.

Sun, Sand and The Strip!

One of the best Algarve resorts, Albufeira has wonderful beaches, turquoise waters and the dramatic, rocky coastline that makes this part of Portugal so special.

Naturally, life here is all about sun, sand and sea. The most popular Albufeira beach is Fisherman’s Beach and you can still see locals bringing in the fishing boats every morning - if you’re up early enough, that is. Tunnel Beach is accessed through an opening in the cliff, and both offer a variety of watersports.

Further up the coast is Albufeira Marina, from where sightseeing boat trips depart, while east of the town is the 9-hole Balaia golf course. On the way here, you pass Arias de Sao João, home to The Strip where the best bars and clubs are found, many staying open until the early hours.

The Old Town of Albufeira is more peaceful, and its cobbled streets house Moorish buildings and some great restaurants serving fresh fish. If you fancy a day trip from Albufeira, the 12th-century remains of Moorish Almoáda Castle in Paderne can be visited for free.

The town is around 45 minutes’ drive from Faro Airport and there is a fantastic range of beach resorts, small B&Bs and Albufeira apartments on Booking.com.

We stayed in a quiet area and was still east to get to the local supermarket and we rented a car. Easy to get around as we used uber and all within 20 mins. Old town Albuferia is more happening and very pretty sunset

The weather was beautiful.

The weather was beautiful. Good place to go if you want to just relax and chill out. Not a lot to do other than the beach and pool. Did not come across any nice shops - just the typical trinkets that could be from anywhere, just with a change of name!! Need to wander into side streets for nice restaurants. Highly recommend Casa Da Fonte(seafood), Alfredo’s and il Terrazzos( both Italian). Did a lot of walking and felt very safe.

First visited Albufeira Christmas gone. It was a cheap Jet2 package . I had reservations as I had read all about The Strip , Hen and Stag parties etc . Worried it would be like Benidorm (not in a snobby way I like peace and quiet) I am back and that speaks volumes. Friendly locals, old town is amazing , Moorish and very creative . Pingo Doce is cheap as chips and I reckon I am saving at least £10-£15 a day in basic bills. Eating out compared to UK or Ireland - very cheap. English Breakfast £5 on waterfront???? The Strip abit more nuts in October than Christmas - I only go down there to get the the beach. Private studios available for lone travellers from £25 a night. I feel safe as a middle aged lone female traveller. GNR (police) have taken a hardline to try and improve some tourists behaviour but as a local lady told me with a wry smile ; enforcing the new rules (no bikinis in restaurants, tops on lads, no buying alcohol after 11pm in shops) is a mellow affair. I travelled over with hand baggage only and managed to get some pretty sweet bargain shorts/tshirts etc for the lovely temperatures we are having right now. Looking forward to Halloween in the town square with my partner.

Beautiful area in the Algarve region.

Beautiful area in the Algarve region. Very large clean beach. Great choice of restaurants. lots of transport options eg taxi uber tuck tuck buses etc. Nice weather, never too windy. People are all 99 percent friendly. Some people may struggle to get around depending on fitness level

Really fun, lovely town.

Really fun, lovely town. We loved the old town, it was filled with character. Lots of little shops and stalls and every type of cuisine you could possibly want! Amazing bars and restaurants to suit all needs. The beaches were lovely and large. The sea was quite rough but all main beaches were life guarded.

The beaches are amazing , the boat trip to see the beautiful dolphins is a must The old town is really nice and lots to do and see although some places are difficult as uphill in general getting around was easy Our accommodation was perfect for everything And the host was exceptional very lovely and nothing was too much trouble . Location amazing and only a short walk or taxi to the Old Town or to The Strip! The apartment we booked was a larger one and well worth the extra for the room as I was travelling with 2 grown up sons. The hotel is spotless and pool area lovely and well maintained. Loved that could get a sunbed at all times. At the end of the road is Albufeira Terrace, which has a great food court on the roof. Would definitely return again to this hotel and recommend.

Ideal location, on the beachfront and only a 5 minute walk into the heart of old town Albufeira. Extremely welcoming hosts that remained fully available via WhatsApp day and night. Gorgeous apartment with very comfortable rooms and bedding. The rooftop terrace was a beautiful perk! Supplying a cot was also no problem it was brought to use within minutes of our arrival. Thank you for accommodating us ❤️

Beautiful authentic hotel, the location wasn't the best if you want to explore as its about 30min walk to the beach and 20 min walk into town. Old Town is about 50 min walk away. Staff were extremely friendly, and hotel was kept fairly clean. Beautiful nature around the hotel and a clean pool.
