The apartment was spacious and homey, equipped with everything we needed for a hiking vacation in Madeira. We loved that the kitchen was big for cooking meals at home, and the washing machine is an added bonus to quickly clean sports clothes. Our host welcomed us to the property as soon as we arrived, showed us everything we needed to know. Maria also provided us with fresh eggs, a plate of fruit waiting for us, a pastry and cookies, which were all absolutely delightful.

Amazing, just amazing. One of the best hotels my partner and I ever stayed. Just unbelievable view from the room. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The food in the restaurant is delicious. The breakfast is excellent. The location have a lot of parking space in front of the property. Even though the property is on expensive end, it's definitely a must visit. You don't even need to go anywhere, you can just stay there an chill.

The property has large rooms which was a must for us - with 2 small babies. The heated pool was really great , 27 degrees. The location has such an amazing holiday vibe - right across from the beach, where we enjoyed dinner several days, at the beach restaurant and amazing sunsets. The hotel breakfast food and dinner was also very good, with plenty of options. The hotel employees were all very kind and accommodating. We had an amazing time!

Amazing place, friendly staff, plenty of daytime and evening activities. Very tasty meals every day. Very pleasant relaxation by the pool. I also recommend it for children. The pool is not too deep, enough sunbeds with umbrellas. Beach/pool towel in the room with the option of exchanging for a new one. There is the possibility of using a sauna and an indoor pool. For moments of boredom, you can play ping-pong or billiards. Enough food, snacks and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) during the day guaranteed. If you need something to buy, perhaps more food or toys for kids, there is a big shop across the street.

Gabriel and Jorge, the hosts, can create an atmosphere of being welcome, of being home - not being client XYZ… The suites/apartments have roughly the size of a big hotel room (including a nice bathroom in the rocks), but with a big terrace facing the sea. The mattresses are of good quality so the basis for a good sleep is ensured. The kitchen (which is part of the room) has a single ring (induction) and a microwave - enough to prepare a breakfast, but not a full-fledged dinner. But there are enough nice restaurants in Calheta centre or… one can book a meal prepared by Gabriel, who is not only a great host but also an excellent chef. It was really a wonderful time we had at this place, thanks Gabriel and Jorge!

    We loved the location because of easy access by car to the...

    We loved the location because of easy access by car to the mountain trails. We also loved our visits to Planalto restaurant where the food was amazing and good value and the hosts were lovely and friendly. There is a great taxi service from the main road and a speedy bus that goes into Funchal if you want a rest from driving.
