if you like being somewhere rural and out of the way and quiet then it is a good place to stay. there only appeared to be 3 staff on duty at any one time. probably the best massage in the spa i have had. the pool is small but adequate and we never found it busy. if you are expecting a nice view from your bedroom, you won;t get it and the weather is colder than down on the coast!!!!Guest review bySallyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Santo da Serra is a quiet region with a village, perfect for exploring the mountains and nature. There is a garden with a lot of trees, some animals and places to have a picnic or simply relax in the woods. There are also churches and restaurants with very good local food. If you enjoy playing golf, then the Santo da Serra Golf Course is one of the most beautiful I've seen, with its breath-taking scenery. There is also at least one pharmacy and mini-market near the church, along with a children's public playground (with slides, swings, and other toys for small children to enjoy). You are also only a few minutes (by car) away from the Santa Cruz aquapark, the Airport and Porto da Cruz.Guest review byPedroPortugal - 10.0

A small cozy town among the mountains. We came here on the way back from Porto Moniz. We felt the local flavor here more than in other tourist cities in Madeira. We liked it here! One can feel a spirit of history of Madeira. Our host welcomed us with a delicious cake and a glass of genuine wine.
