Amazing views! The room is comfortable and has everything you need. Even though the toilet isn’t an en suite, it’s all yours and I didn’t see anyone else while there, other than for check in and check out with the hosts (who are lovely!). The bed is comfy, the air conditioning is amazing and even though you’re a bit further up the hill, the waves can still be heard, which was so peaceful.

We felt the most at peace here than any other stay on the island. They thought about everything including snorkels and umbrellas to take to the beach. The host was super nice, she even returned something I forgot on our next destination. Best stay on Réunion!

Kaz Orea is an absolute gem, and is highly recommended. Laurent and Sarah are very welcoming and very helpful with advice on visits, restaurants, etc. Our appartment had a fabulous view of the sea and St Leu, and in the morning the sky was full of paragliders to entertain us, and maybe try one day! The pool and terrace is lovely, and in the afternoon Sarah will often bring down homemade lemon and ginger juice. A car is necessary as the b & B is someway up the hillside at Colimacons, and to reach the Maido or the volcano, you need a car unless going by helicopter! Absolutely essential to do both, we think. We had the optional breakfast, which included excellent homemade bread and brioche, as well as delicious jams and fruit juice, with the option of scrambled eggs. Very clever stuff. For us it was a better option than a hotel. For our 4 night stay, after visiting Mauritius, we originally booked into the Lux at St Gilles. We are very glad we cancelled that and found Kaz Orea instead.

    Saint Leu is the best choice for exploring the western part...

    Saint Leu is the best choice for exploring the western part of the island. It has a lagoon, which means you can swim freely and not be afraid of shark attacks. The town has nice shops, it is small, so you can explore it on foot. On Saturday mornings there is a market by the sea, which is worth visiting. Surfers have constant waves, but you need to be careful, as shark encounters are known. The salt museum is nearby, you can quickly reach the capital St. Denis and also the south, as this part of the island is well connected by the new motorway. A good starting point for visiting Cilaos. To explore Mafate and Salizie, it is better to arrange an overnight stay on the east coast, otherwise you will lose too much time and daylight, which is only 11 hours anyway.

    This little villa was great for some time off with the whole family. During our time in Reunion Island the weather was crazy hot and coming back to the villa, chilling and having some time in the pool, drinking and eating was great! We were just happy that all of us was coming back to a villa and not to closed hotel rooms... If we come back to Reunion we'll definitely rebook here and even recommend it to anyone coming to Reunion Island.
