We had an exceptional wonderful stay at Umurobyio Lodge. It's the perfect place to unwind and immerse oneself in the beautiful nature of Rwanda. The Lodge offers everything one would need for an unforgettable holiday. The scenic views from all angles over Lake Kivu are breathtaking. The staff were incredibly attentive, always helpful and friendly, catering to our needs with a warm smile. The hospitality of the owners and the whole team made us feel truly welcome. The food was a highlight - fresh, delicious, and healthy, a feast for both the eyes and the palate.  Our room was spotless, clean, and very comfortable, complete with a spacious balcony offering a fantastic view over the lake.  We had a wonderful experience and we can only recommend the Lodge for a perfect holiday.

One of the Best Places to Stay in Kibuye! I had a wonderful stay at Small Land Lodge, truly one of the best places I’ve ever stayed in Kibuye. The location is excellent, just a short distance from the bus station, Kibuye city center, Lake Kivu, and Kibuye Hospital. The lodge itself is beautiful and thoughtfully designed. My room was clean and comfortable, with a mosquito net and all the essentials. The breakfast was delicious and a perfect start to the day. I highly recommend Small Land Lodge to anyone visiting Kibuye!

The location is stunning and overlooks the lake on both sides - with a short walkway down to the lakeshore. It is a supremely relaxing spot with goats and sheep roaming in the garden. Deborah and the team are superb hosts and we felt very much at home here.

This place has no downsides. The lodge is on a hill and offers a great view of the eastern side of Lake Kivu, and just 100m away from the lodge, there's a view of the western part of the lake. The staff is lovely, it's a peaceful location away from traffic, and the cuisine includes delicious local dishes.

I wish I had stayed here more instead of Gisenyi... It's bliss by the lake. I added two nights here at the last moment and it turned out to be the best place I stayed in Rwanda. Birds chirping in the morning, deck chairs to relax in by the lake, excellent breakfasts. I loved it! And I must say the communication with the hotel was excellent. I really recommend Kibuye instead of Gisenyi. TIP: Ask the receptionist about the restaurant that's just next to it, you just need to know how to get there, because you kind of enter through a small gate that the security of the nearby establishment need to open for you.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Umutuzo Lodge, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The lodge is nestled in a breathtaking location, offering stunning scenery that made every moment feel like a retreat into nature's beauty. The room was nothing short of amazing. It was impeccably clean, thoughtfully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The attention to detail in the room's design made it a perfect blend of luxury and coziness. What truly set this stay apart was the exceptional staff. Every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure the stay was perfect. Their warmth, professionalism, and willingness to assist with any request made a significant difference and added a personal touch that I greatly appreciated. From the stunning scenery and beautifully appointed rooms to the outstanding service provided by the staff, everything exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend the lodge to anyone seeking a memorable and relaxing getaway.

It’s so lovely, green and quiet.

It’s so lovely, green and quiet. Highlight was a trip on the lake with “Visit Lake Kivu Boat Tours and Adventure” https://g.page/r/CVY-Yks602oBEBE/review Where I learned so much and saw things I never imagined. I would have liked to stay 2 extra days to get a hike, kayaking and night fishing in too with plenty of time just reading by the lake. Not much to do in the town, but went for a magnificent long (hilly!) run.
