Koh Kood is a genuine hidden gem. The tropical beaches have crystal clear water and there are some great snorkeling spots if you look hard enough. Make sure you get down to The Fisherman Hut and mention Whimsical Tricycle to the owner, Tom. He will know what you mean. Enjoy! But keep it secret. Koh Kood was absolutely stunning.
Koh Kood was absolutely stunning. The beaches are beautiful, very peaceful, and not crowded like other islands. It’s a true gem in the otherwise quite touristy Thailand. The island has retained its charm and natural beauty. The only downside was the presence of many sandflies on the beaches. This is the place that is definitely for people who want a very quiet serene holiday. The people on the island are so friendly. The main, I will say resorts but think of them as little oasis’s’ Are spread over only half of the island, with beautiful beaches so if you’re looking for any type of nightlife (except eating out) this is not the island for you. It’s beautiful and unspoilt. You can only get around with motorbike / scooters and open back vehicles. We were looking for something with good AC, a good location and we were on a budget. It is a very simple bungalow, far from a resort or hotel. The owners do not speak great English but they do their best to help you. We rented a motorbike really quickly - the owner helped us with that. The owner is simply the most friendly, happy and helpful hoster that I have met during my trip in Thailand. The place is just couple of kms away from two beautiful beaches. You can rent a motorbike directly at the place, Kiu will make it very easy for you. Also the recommendations he made for restaurant and couple other places were just the right choice!
