A small charming lodge that is very well maintained, with beautiful villas and rooms built in traditional style, functional, furnished with great taste. I can only recommend the restaurant, delicious and reasonably priced cuisine, flexible meal times and above all, open every day. I would like to emphasise the friendly staff and the personal contact with the owners Annick and Ben, who helped us a lot with their great advice and help with our daily excursions. It's great to see that there are still such affordable, small and above all personal hotels that are also sustainable and environmentally friendly. We will remember this lodge as inspiring and recommend it to others. Congratulations to the whole team.

I loved everything! it was a solid charging place. We will definitely come back. The service was amazing, the facilities were top notch, the housekeeping was 5 star and the kitchen is absolutely top!!! We couldn’t imagine better place for our holidays.

What makes Palmera so special is its inspiring mission. The hotel and restaurant operate as a hospitality school for local young women, and the exceptional service they provide is a direct reflection of their training. From their warm smiles to their impeccable attention to detail, you can feel the genuine pride they take in their work. The hotel's setting is pure paradise. The infinity pool overlooking the turquoise sea is mesmerizing, and the lush, immaculately kept gardens create a perfect oasis for relaxation. It was wonderful to be able to walk barefoot through the fine sand and simply enjoy the tranquility. For anyone, but especially for vegans, the restaurant is a must-visit. The creative and delicious vegan dishes, all beautifully prepared and presented by the talented students, were a true highlight. It's a testament to the high-quality training they are receiving. The breakfast, in particular, was the best I had during my three-week stay in Tanzania, the homemade warm bread and homemade chocolate spread were unforgettable. For lunch and dinner, with main courses priced between $11 and $13, it offers exceptional value. This 15-room hotel is a quiet retreat. I stayed when it was almost empty and had no issues with noise, but even when full, the large garden and pool area should provide plenty of space for guests. The price range for double rooms in the 2025 high season was 70-100 USD. All rooms face the sea, though the view can be a bit limited from some of the downstairs rooms. While the large windows are beautiful, the curtains don’t fully cover them, which could be a privacy concern for some. I prefer a firm mattress, and the bed was perfect for me, but it might be a bit too hard for others. The solar-powered hot water worked flawlessly. The road to the hotel is a little bumpy on the last kilometer, but there are plans to improve it. In the bathrooms, I would have appreciated a bit more space to dry towels, or a drying rack on the terrace.

- perfect spot for resting and beautiful scenery - the villa is literally on the beach - you can see the ocean from the bed - you can watch the sunrise from your bed or romantically from the heartshaped pier, swing or beach - it’s very quiet and so you wont see many people except for some locals working during low tide - staff is very friendly, helpful and on point (fast response and solving problems/requests) - the manager is very hospitable, initiates sharing information but also leaves you alone immediately when finished - the manager’s cat is living on the property and she’s super cute and playful - they arrange taxi, massage, yoga classes and tours - you can use the supboards for free - breakfast is very delicious and versatile and almost entirely suitable for vegetarians - restaurants offers outside of menu options for lunch and dinner as requested, even local dishes that are not on the menu - water pressure is very good and hot water - airconditioning and fan works perfectly - complimentary drinks upon arrival and leave

This is a lovely Little place. The managerres go out of her way to help. It has a great pool and is quite. It feels like home. We can highly recommend this small family hotel.It is only 5min walk to the beach. Thank you we realy enjoyed our stay

I came here after climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, my main goal was to sleep, swim and relax after the hike. Overall, perfect place if you are looking for a little hideaway. Lovely sea view from my room. A number of hamocks, couches and sunbeds along the sea front to chose from to chill and sleep. Didnt feel overcrowded, very relaxed atmosphere, food, drinks, massage all well priced

All things in this hotel are exceptional. The location, the staff ( the head manager, Mr. Hanna and the cheif Mr. Amr), the meals, the veiw and the hotel is like a very magnificent garden. First and foremost, we loved the service of the staff at the Resort. They are always cheerful, helpful and without prejudice. I would love to take the long list of all the names of the staff here, had I had more space.😊Second, the resort had all facilities for a family to spend time leisurely. Special mention to the evening entertainment for all and activities to keep kids of all ages involved. Third, they took special note of our anniversary and really went their out to make it a special day for us as a couple and as a family too. Fourth, the variety of foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner, especially for us as vegetarians is commendable. They include starters, salads, variety of main course dishes, soups, desserts, fruit juices and smoothies, breads and toppings, pancakes and a lot more. Special shoutout to the Chocolate Lava Cake and Mango Passionfruit Smoothie. Last but not least, the cleanliness and the beauty of the rooms and the resort, the location next to the beach and the variety of fruits and desserts available to eat all deserve a wholesome applause.

We had such a charming stay here. It's a very unique setting with just a few rooms overlooking Eden Rock, so you have almost exclusive access to the stunning Mtende beach in the mornings and evenings. The only sounds you hear are the sea, the birds and the local fishermen. Communication was good with David the host, staff were excellent and the highlight for me was how well the local cats and dogs are treated by the hotel. The rooms are gorgeous and beds super comfy - can't beat the views from the upper floors. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to those looking for a special setting (very much) off the beaten track. Food was good (especially the prawns). 2-3 nights recommended.
