    We enjoyed our time at Cowboy Country Inn because management was well organized and super efficient. The wifi and Direct TV were exceptional. Escalante has a Catholic church with a Sunday 5 pm Mass. Don't miss Escalante Outfitters - great pizza, exceptional coffee!

    A lot to do. Tried to book a tour but no availability.

    A lot to do. Tried to book a tour but no availability. So if you are planning to do one, book early. There was only 1 restaurant that open while we were there. We love the Petrified Forest, Escalante River hike, Lower Calf Falls, as well as the Long Slot Canyon. Some of the attractions need a 4x4. Wish we knew ahead of time. Overall, very enjoyable! Cute little town with lots to do.

    It was a great place, would be fun to rent the entire place...

    It was a great place, would be fun to rent the entire place with a big group. As I told the owners the back patio needs a little work to make it more welcoming to hang out on. It does not have an hotel or lodge feeling. Lots up junk that needs cleaning up or a fence separating you from the shop surrounding. Also you apparently have to rent for more than one night to have access to use washer and dryer.

    My biggest regret that I have planned only one day for...

    My biggest regret that I have planned only one day for Escalante. We only done Peekaboo - Spooky slots, and Petrified Forest hike. We should have stay longer to get more slot canyons to explore. I just did not expect it to be so much fan compare to usual canyons hikes.

    Such a different kind of experience!

    Such a different kind of experience! We stayed in the Air Stream and it was fun, but mostly a stripped out airstream sparsely furnished although a comfy bed. A little concerned that the curtains were not sufficient for privacy. We went to the Utah Petrified Forest State Park and hiked with walking sticks. Quite a place! Enjoyed the area and wished to stay longer, there was so much to see and do.

    This was going to just be a pass-through stop between...

    This was going to just be a pass-through stop between Capitol Reef and Bryce and we just loved this little town. Very well maintained, clean and friendly. We did the Escalante River Trail hike while we were there which was a bonus. Loved the Escalante Outfitters for pizza and beer after a long day and frittatas and coffee for breakfast the next morning. I would recommend staying in this town to anyone passing through. Ponderosa Inn was a great little motel too.

    Comfortable room and bathroom. Nice place, cows for neighbours. We arrived after dark and Google Maps sent us to completely the wrong place in town! Apparently this happens a lot. Fortunately we had read that Dora's Cottage was run by the Cowboy Country Inn so we went there and rang the number on the reception door. The guy running the hotel was super helpful and went with us to find the place.

    The wooden cabin was nice and cosy; The place and territory is very nice, with garden and view to the Escalante river/ wadi; There is no toilet and shower in the cabin, but there is separate building with showers and toilet; Everything was clean Location is excellent: close to the slot canyons, Calf Creek waterfalls trials, Zebra & Tunnel canyons, BigHorn canyon, etc.

    Great location close yo bars, coffee shops and rrsteirdd as by which were within walking distance. BBQ area at the back of the property and seats at the front. Loved the rustic wooden design and the pictures on the wall. Bed was very comfortable and shower great. It was very close to hikes in Grand Escalante Staircase NM

    Lovely little place to stay in Escalante and Tom (the owner) was a pleasure to deal with and talk to. Room was clean and comfortable, had a decent shower, was quiet (no children allowed!) and Tom provides some free coffee and tea in the morning.
