The room was beautiful and very spacious. Plenty of drawer and cabinet space for those looking for a long stay. The fridge also had a freezer compartment and came with a microwave. The pillows were super soft and the bed was one of the more comfortable hotel beds I've slept on. I always dread hotels because the beds just aren't home but I didn't feel that way here. My son also loved the pull out bed on the couch and basically having his own room. The couch is in a separate room from the queen and king bed portion. Because breakfast isn't served anymore we got buy one get one free coupons that saved us $20 on breakfast. The water park was also amazing.

The scenery is the best, even in rain.

The scenery is the best, even in rain. But food costs were uncalled for. An entree uptown was anywhere from 26-$60 per person. I don't know how families do it. And this is the off season! People with kids must bring their own food or pay a fortune. I would recommend a back pack with food if going to the Island. Expect to spend $60- 70 per meal for a couple. If you take your own food you can really save and have some money to do stuff. My wife and I rise late, eat a late breakfast and skip lunch to save money.

Clean and neat, amazing views, great breakfast restaurants! So very many choices of hotels and motels depending on if you want a lake view or bridge view or city view. Beautiful downtown shopping area, touristy shops, fun restaurants. Definitely a tourist stop and stay

There is a lot to do in the city.

There is a lot to do in the city. We walked along the lakeshore and looked at the Mackinac bridge. People were parasailing. Shopping, bars, restaurants, museums, lighthouse tours, and even a small casino. I left the casino with more money than I entered with, that was a good thing.

Mackinaw City is expensive, but has some great places.

Mackinaw City is expensive, but has some great places. The shopping area downtown is very interesting. The park next to the bridge is beautiful (except for goose poop). We didn't visit the fort this time, but it is very interesting. If you stay at a place with shuttle service to the ferry, you don't have to pay for parking. Some hotels have discount coupons to the ferry. Getting around is easy. Most things are within walking distance. Mackinac Island is expensive if you shop there, but to walk around has beautiful scenery. You can rent bikes and travel 8 miles around the island, or take a horse taxi. Arch Rock is interesting.

My family and I haven't been to Mackinaw City in over 20 years. We were so happy to be able to get back there. It's a cute little city with plenty of restaurants, shopping and things for kids to do. It's also very dog friendly! There's plenty of parking and it also has a nice public bathroom area. You won't be disappointed, there's something for everyone to enjoy!

Mackinaw will always be my happy place. I do like going during off season times because way less people. Waiting in line at restaurants was a drag but expected. The Crossings need some new shops. I didn't know they were going to do fireworks so that was a nice surprise.

The room was clean and quiet, and the staff were very nice. It's an older hotel, but it is very clean and comfortable. The view of the bridge from our room was great. They allowed us to park in their lot before check-in, so we did not have to pay to park in the ferry parking lot. I would easily stay here again. It was a ten-minute walk to the ferry and downtown.
