It is obvious that most of the people in Steytlerville are very proud of their town. The people take responsibility of cleaning the town themselves, so I can't give credit to the municipality for this. This town stands out in the Eastern Cape as one of the cleanest and friendliest. It was great to walk around and be greeted by all the people we passed. The main street is adorned with beautiful bougainvillea in different colours The Royal Hotel is a beautiful old building with great hospitality and food. Steytlerville Villa is a great place to stay and very central.

Steytlerville is such a clean small town.

Steytlerville is such a clean small town. Did not have much time to explore - would have liked to go to the Theatrical Hotel. The Royal Hotel seems a good place to enjoy a meal and a drink at the bar. Small supermarket U-Save has the basics. Beautiful churches. See if you can find your family name on the emblems lining the main street. Scenic geological formations driving through the Valley of Flags is a must see.

A clean, beautiful town with friendly people.

A clean, beautiful town with friendly people. It has a well kept church with a very high tower. Everywhere are water wise plants. There are colorful bougainvilleas in the main street, as well as heraldic designs of the families in the district. The bobotie at the Royal Hotel was exceptional!

The town has had some surprises historically.

The town has had some surprises historically. The fact that AG Visser lived there was interesting, and that Danie Craven had connections to the town was also interesting. The local artist excellent work hangs in the Royal Hotel. Some other attractions we did not have time for.
