The staff go above and beyond what is expected from them. Service with a smile and can hold a conversation with kids for hours on end which was super sweet to watch as they explained things as my kids asked away. My dog had so much space to run around! I highly recommend Pyramids Motel as the perfect rest stop or peaceful getaway spot.

The restaurant was a highlight—delicious food with a great variety of options. It was also family-friendly, with a great space for children to play, which is a huge plus for families traveling with little ones. The outdoor amenities were fantastic! The pool was clean and refreshing, and the braai area was well-maintained, which made for a great alternative to cooking

The location of Van Reenen is a) convenient and b) a beautiful part of the world. The scenery is fantastic. The town itself could do with a good lick of paint and a rich and enthusiastic developer of historic buildings. There are a couple of very pretty house which are well looked after. Across the road from the petrol station is "The littlest Church" where we stop for breakfast. Fabulous - both the church, view and breakfast.

The area is interesting and historical, there's an antique shop, good resturant as well as. the smallest church in the country. The surrounding scenery is outstanding, a worthwhile area to visit.

We visited the "little church" [just off the N3] and thoroughly enjoyed it, so much history which links with Wyford farm history and had breakfast at the adjoining restaurant which was very good, with an amazing view down the valley

it is a bit of a hidden gem.
it is a bit of a hidden gem. Roads are gravel which adds to teh character. about 6 kms from the turn off- the farm is located.
rich history - well preserved.
Van Reenen is an ideal half- way stop to Durban.
the farm caters for meals etc and also has braai stands in the gardens.
We had all our meals, dinner and breakfast at the farm.
Next time- maybe book a room with a shower and also ensure that we spend longer at the farm.

Fascinating to see how a small village has been made into a hotel. Beautiful location, with spectacular view of the surrounding hills. The room was warm and cosy, with the extra touch of an electric blanket. Dining room was warm, with a log fire going. Food was very good. Service was personal and great.

The location of the farm is spectacular. The rooms are spacious and has everything you need for short stay. The host is very friendly and knowledgeable about the origins of the farm and history of Van Reenen.

What a quaint little Gem, steeped in history - amazing that they have kept this hotel going for well over a century ! Stunning gardens, lovely homemade food available in the dining room.
