In the private and peaceful grounds of Canterbury Cathedral, this stylish lodge offers free Wi-Fi, hearty breakfasts and scenic views. Canterbury’s historic centre is a 2-minute walk away.

The bright and airy bedrooms at Canterbury Cathedral Lodge each have a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee facilities. All rooms feature a modern bathroom, and many have cathedral views. We loved our stay at Cathedral Lodge. Exceptional location, right on the grounds of the famous Canterbury Cathedral, with parking right outside the lodge (must be reserved). Great breakfast with lots of choice, just perfect. The rooms are very nice and comfortable, all well thought out. We had a fantastic view of the cathedral. Entry to the cathedral is free for guests of the lodge. The location is a perfect base for exploring Canterbury.

On the border of Kent and East Sussex, The Queen’s Inn in Hawkhurst offers luxurious rooms alongside its high-quality restaurant and bar. Around 7 miles from Sissinghurst Castle and 4 miles from Bedgebury Pinetum, this Weald of Kent inn dates back to 1561 and offers free parking and WiFi. We loved everything of our stay. Most comfortable bed & linen. Staff were amazing & the food amazing. They catered very well and understood food allergies. Boozy hot chocolate for the win

With views across the Alkham Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Marquis of Granby was transformed in 2008 to combine timeless rural England with boutique-style luxury. It is 'Highly Commended' by the AA. This little inn is an absolute gem of sumptuous welcome, class, and comfort. The dinners and breakfasts were served in a charming, well-lighted room. The food was superb, imaginative, and all taken care of by thoroughly professional staff. A true gem. The Le Palmier room was so roomy and had the biggest bath I have ever seen. What a joy!

An inn since the 15th century, this beautiful property offers boutique rooms and modern stable rooms with free Wi-Fi, just a few minutes’ walk from the city centre. It has a bar, library, and its Victorian walled garden is the largest in Canterbury. We really liked House of Agnes; it is such a wonderful place, and the excellent reviews are more than warranted. Access is through a medieval gateway (we could navigate our easily with our small car and could park right next to our room) which is closed at night (you get a key), so the whole property has a nice secluded feel, even though it is a busy main street outside and a railway line just beyond the property line. There is a beautiful garden with lots of seating opportunities. We were in an old stable building (no stairs or even steps to the room), very quiet and well-appointed (the train can be heard now and then). It is just a short walk to the city gate and Canterbury's many sights. We were really sorry that we had to miss the legendary breakfast (next time!), as we had to leave for the ferry early, but the kitchen staff provided coffee to go. We will definitely return!

Set in Whitstable, 600 metres from Whitstable Beach, Hotel Continental offers accommodation with a terrace, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. This 3-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk. The property is non-smoking and is located 10 km from University of Kent. It's as good as everyone says it is. Don't let the white walls in the photos fool you into thinking it's drab. This place is classic understated elegance, and you can tell it was built to last and with quality. Seaside with rooms with a view (and binoculars!) , comfortable bed, modern bathroom, lovely downstairs area with 24/7 bar and an amazing buffet breakfast that provides a full English short of blood pudding. And 5 minute walk from freshly shucked oysters on the pier.
