Breakfast was delicious, varied, and of the highest quality. Our suite “Senza Nidd” was an absolute highlight: beautifully designed, very comfortable, and with a unique atmosphere.

The In Pietra is set in a converted monastery from the 13th century. Today it offers a large hall, a reading room and a wine cellar. The lobby was beautiful and atmospheric, a nice place to relax and have a drink. The staff was friendly and helpful indicating on their map route suggestions up and down the winding paths in Matera and also transportation options when I left for my next town. The view outside the lobby front door is spectacular-a view across to the Duomo. Breakfast had a nice selection of food.

The hostess is a wonderful lady that suggested and pointed us out all the sightseeings and the way to access them. She also offered us her parking lot to leave our motorbikes.
