Boasting a spectacular architecture, this unique design hotel provides 3 impressive pools and exotic activities like bird watching. It's a fascinating building wonderfully situated right in the heart of the jungle, with plants growing over it. Marvellous views over the nearby lake, just slightly spoiled by the fact that a drought had left it nearly empty. Service was superb with tremendous attention to detail. I enjoyed the meals, both the buffet breakfast and dinner, each of which provided a very wide choice. The rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. A memorable place to stay.

A garden view, air conditioning, and an en suite with a rain-style shower or a bath are standard in all rooms. Dambulla Rock Arch extras include a desk, bed linen, and towels. Very big room, super clean and with all facilities you can need. Susantha, the owner, is extremely kind. He also proposed to bring us on a tour and woke up at 4 am the next morning to let us see sunrise in Pidurangala. His wife is lovely and really taking take of guests. The place is completely in the centre and has a magnificent restaurant two minutes walk from the hotel. Just ask Susantha. You will love this place.

Ashburnham offers not just a break from the everyday, but a complete shift in pace. The whole fteam is gracious and attentive without ever being intrusive, and their warmth and professionalism enhanced the sense of calm and care. I travel a lot, and I don’t believe there’s anywhere quite like it, thank you Vish, Daniel and the team! We will return again I’m sure!

Located within a 10-minute drive from Dambulla town, the property is also 25 km from Sigiriya Rock Fortress and a 3.5-hour drive to Bandaranaike International Airport. Great stay, Mr. Nish and his team went out of their way to take care of us. The food was excellent, we even extended our stay by a night!
