It was a wonderful experience that was made exceptional by the kindness we received from the owner Teresa and the other members of the staff. We had dinner several times here during our stay and it was always delicious and served in a lovely and familiar atmosphere.

I liked how central it is to go to the main city and departures to all the attractions. And the staff, the staff was superb. The hotel has a year-round outdoor pool and hot tub, and guests can enjoy a meal at the restaurant or a drink at the bar. We loved everything about this hotel. The location is excellent and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Facilities and breakfast are amazing.

The outdoor terrace provides spectacular views of sunsets or leisurely breakfasts in the morning sun. Guests can also eat outdoors by the pool. Beautiful property in a great location for hiking to Pico Ruivo and Pico Areeiro. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They made us feel very special. The Hibiscus Restaurant had wonderful food and Fabrício was great!

All rooms and apartments of the Golden Residence are equipped with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, and a kettle. Some rooms have side views of the North Atlantic Ocean. Apartments feature a living area with a kitchenette. We loved the location of the hotel, very close to Funchal, bus station is just across the street, although we mainly walked and also rented a car to get to the other side of the island that’s not very frequently connected by bus. It was the perfect choice that we reserved a room in Golden residence hotel!!!! Everything was amazing, staff is always cleaning and taking care of the hotel, everybody is very welcoming and warm:) I would also like to say that if you are a breakfast lover, just book this hotel, because OH MY LORD!!! THE BREAKFAST IS PHENOMENAL!!!!:))) You have everything to choose from (even chia pudding for all of us healthy food freaks out there:)), all kinds of fruit, veggies, breads, yoghurt, milk, cereals, pancakes, eggs in like 4 ways, baked beans, baked tomatoes, different homemade cakes and jams, nuts, seeds,….you name it- they have it all!!! 😝So to sum up, we were indeed very very happy with our stay (WE WILL BE COMING BACK FOR SURE!) and very sad that after 15 days of staying there, we had to go back home:) So don’t think twice, just book this amazing hotel and you will guaranteed have the most amazing time in Madeira☺️

This restored Madeiran mansion is located 900 metres from Funchal's Old Town and has scenic views of the sea, the city and the mountains from its own botanical gardens and terraces. Free WiFi and free covered private parking are available. Breakfast was in a-la-carte style (but you can order out of the menu whatever you want and how much you want) : always staff were offering fresh juices. Room was with a great view to Funchal and ocean, nice sunsets. Balcony was not private (shared with 3 rooms), but during our stay we were using it alone. There were living two dogs Labradore in the hotel that cheered us up every morning :). View from hotel is amazing - you can enjoy it every morning with delicious breakfast. Hotel location is also good- next to the restaurant street. Recommend this hotel for sure!
