Newly modernised in an apartment block about 100 years old (the lift is original) in what was then the elite part of Cairo. British and US embassies close by and near a modern Coptic church all with a heavy police presence 24/7. Secure door with electronic lock. Nice student style coffee shop and bookshop 1 minute walk (Falaka) with English and French speaking clientele, and close to Four Seasons and other five star hotels. V Good restaurant 5 mins walk (Taboula). Nearby corner shops “supermarkets”! Owner quickly replies to WhatsApp. Spacious main bedroom and en-suite shower. Good kitchen. Good internet. Uber pick up outside is easy - about 200 to the Grand museum and similar to the citadel. 15 mins walk to old museum.

First we stayed at the Four Seasons on Giza, and I think the rooms here were much nicer. I would highly recommend this hotel. The restaurants were very nice as well.

It was very spacious and clean with very comfortable beds. The lounge area is very big with all the amenities working well. The contact Nagwa was especially helpful and kind. She was on hand at every possible moment to help with anything from answering queries to organising trips. She made the stay especially smooth.

I like staying at the Intercontinental Hotel because of its excellent service, and the one in Cairo was no exception. The hotel is beautiful, the room is very spacious, all the staff is very nice and helpful and the breakfast is one of the best I have tried, truly excellent. I used the spa, which is quiet with a great atmosphere and the massage was great. Also had tea at the Tea Garden, I recommend to go there in the afternoon since the sunset is breathtaking, and finally had dinner at The Birdcage, which was absolutely amazing! They also changed my dates when the airline cancelled my original flight even though they have a non-cancellation policy so I'm very grateful for that too. I had the best experience and I will definitely come back!
