The meals were incredible, the staff were very attentive, and the location is beautiful. Our room was spacious and had a private onsen. The two "public" onsens are lovely and overlook the river. The public onsens can be reserved and there was always at least one available. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience. For hikers, there is a mountain trail right outside Kakurean Hidaji.

Rustic feels which transported us back in time. The staff were friendly and explained everything well. There are several locations for the onsens, and we enjoyed the ones next to the river best. Food was good generally, and we sat round the fire. The rooms were on the warm side.

I arrived in the town by bus on a dark and rainy night and was worried about walking and getting lost in the rain. But when I got off the bus the owner was waiting there for me and gave me a ride up to the hotel which I was incredibly grateful for! Dinner and breakfast was delicious, the room exceeded my expectations and it was lovely to soak in the Onsen after a long day. The owners are very helpful and friendly and I really enjoyed my short stay. Thank you Suisensou!

Location is perfectly close to Hirayu bus station. Very large room compared to other facility in Japan. Private onsen available if noone is using. Great services including abundant Japanese breakfast. Besides hotel onsen, you also get free voucher to use public onsen near by, which usually costs 700 yen per person. It is a hotel where the owner takes good care of and pays attention to details. Good restaurants near by in case you want to have more options
