This was our first ryokan experience and Mozumo has certainly set the standard pretty high for us. We had booked a room with a private onsen. The onsen overlooked the forest and the facilities in the room were also top notch. The food and service by the staff was excellent.

This is a beautiful hotel, clean, and with very friendly staff. It has private onsens as well as female and male ones. It's about a 10 min walk from the ski field and 5 mins from the bus station. The rooms are well heated and come with private bathrooms.

Excellent and relaxing hotel, with spacious traditional Japanese rooms featuring tatami floors, dinner and coffee table. Great views of the snowy mountains. Both outdoor and indoor private onsen available. Excellent location, just 200m from Hirayu bus stop to Kamikochi. Free parking. Breakfast and dinner options available at the hotel right opposite, although there are also a couple of decent restaurants around.

The old japanese themed room was great. The yukata was really confy. The onsen (thermal bath) was AMAZING, you can go indoors or outdoors, and is opened almost all day.
The staff was friendly and there are some restaurants nearby, one of them made a really good ramen.

Stunning mountain area. The onsen was incredible! You are really surrounded by forest. The meals we had were the best food we ate in the country. Real home cooking perfection. The onsen was a delight even in summer.
