This was probably our favourite accommodation during our entire trip in Japan. Not only was takayama itself beautiful to travel to by train but the hospitality at Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan was amazing and I would definitely return here when I come to Takayama next. Would definitely recommend the traditional meal experience as well! They will also pick you up/drop you off at the train station as well for no extra cost!

This was a very large interesting house. More than enough space for 2 families (10 people). It was very local Japanese. Fully equipped gourmet kitchen. This is also associated with a local hotel so there is also access to fitness and pool.
