Perfect location right on the ghats. Staff incredibly polite and helpful, but zero hassle. Rooms were cosy and comfortable with excellent AC, kettle and TV. Internet was excellent. I would stay again.

stayed at homestay in oct24 , Room was clean and comfortable. The staff , especially Sri Ram and sidhanshu were friendly and helpful . They arrange guide for us , he was too good and patience and helped us a lott(akhilesh) . The break fast spread was impressive .

Maa Durga is one of a kind! Vishnu is one of the most genuine, caring, kind,inspiring, knowledgeable, helpful and compassionate humans we have ever met in India! Our room was perfect, we slept like babies, the water hot and pressure was awesome! Location is prime, right off the Ghats but still quiet enough to get all the rest you need! Vishnu is known for his delicious chai and heartfelt conversation! He knows everything and everyone in Varanasi and can help you plan and execute your adventures with a quickness.. He truly cares about his guests and genuinely wants the best for you! If you want to go on a real adventure ask him about his street food tour, so awesome!! Over all we loved our stay and will always choose Maa Durga and Vishna when we visit Varanasi!!! Thank you for everything!!!

Sona, her guesthouse and wonderful family have been the absolute highlight of my week stay in Varanasi. An ongoing source of joy, a deep well of information, a little Varanasi recommendation when required, the best chai masala in town, and an ever-present smile, it’s a joy to be with her. Sitting still is not part of Sona’s life, she’s always arranging things for her guests, always making their stays even better, or she’s in the kitchen doing her magic. Make sure to eat from the guesthouse’s menu as often as you can, the dishes are delicious and heartwarming. The food is one of the aspects that made me feel home here. The room had all amenities I could wish for, there are many shops and eateries nearby and Assi ghat, the usual southern starting point to explore the river and its ghats, is not even a 10-minutes walk from the guesthouse. Should I return to Varanasi one day, I can only wish Sona and her family have one of their rooms available. I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else. For now though, I cherish the tea spices Sona prepared for me as a reminder of her hospitality. Above and beyond! Helpful, warm, attentive, capable and service-minded.

I don't even know where to start, the staff is absolutely amazing. Tej waited us for our late-night check-in because of our delayed flight, helped us with city attractions and maps, gave us a room upgrade for free. Helped us book a boat tour in the Ganges River that was 70% cheaper than the ones I saw online. And to top it off, helped us to get to the train station in time on the day we left Varanasi. The room was spacious, bed was really confortable and this was the first time I received free toiletries in India, plus electric kettle, tea and coffee. I cannot stress enough how much I reccomend this property, thanks Tej.

    Cozy guesthouse with 4 rooms in a family house ideally located near Assi Ghat. The room was pretty small, but was clean and quiet at night. The family lives on the first floor, a small communal space on the ground floor has two tables and a sofa. It's a nice spot to meet other guests and Sona, the host, will serve you her homemade fresh food here. We enjoyed our stay very much! Thank you Sona!
