Everything was clean, comfortable and enough space (even if one sleeping room was quite small, there was enough space to leave our luggage in the huge living room). The terrace with the hotpot was so great after a long day and on top polar lights in the night. The kittchen is really big and well equipped. The beds were comfortable. It has one shower and two separate toiletes, which was pleasant for a group of 6 people.

We were upgraded to one of the brand new apartments and it was fantastic. The apartment had a spacious kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Everything was new and clean and the room was warm. The hostess was lovely and prepared a delicious dinner out of local products from the farm just for us. The farm is located in a beautiful area by the Lagarfljót lake with lots of trees and amazing nature all around. Bigger town Egilsstadir is only 15min away by car. Nelson the cat was always checking on us:) wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Loved this place and our host. Added bonus of a sauna and a hottub and some delicious homemade icelandic bread. Perfect stop over when travelling the ring road and only 5 minutes from the majestic Hengifoss. I do hope life brings us this way again.

We stayed in the apartment and it was lovely and well-appointed. The little patio area in front was so nice since we were blessed with a beautiful day. Sitting outside with a coffee and watching and listening to the birds in the meadow right outside was delightful. We had been in Bakkagerdi earlier in the evening to view the puffins (1 million stars/10 on that experience) and this was the perfect place to spend the night, since it was less than an hour from there but also gave us a little bit of a head start on our clockwise ring road journey for the next day's travels.
