Do note that the check in time is 3-6pm, and when i was late, the owner patiently waited for me to arrive. Free homemade welcome drink and oranges. Room had plates and kitchen equipment as well as games. Location was good with 24hr Lawson nearby.

The shared rooms were clean, quiet and very comfortable and that has to be the best shower I've ever seen in a hostel. The woman that helped me with the check-in process was super kind and showed me all the facilities including the laundry room and the chill rooftop hangout area, she also gave me a cute hand drawn map that pointed out locations of interest in the area.

I had a fabulous stay at this guesthouse. It's been recently renovated and beautiful. Simply decorated with a lot of attention to detail. Very tidy and quiet. Most amazing was the owner - she was so welcoming and hospitable in a very humble way. The dinner was among the most delicious food I had in Japan, the sake was great, and the breakfast was good, too. The experience felt very authentic and was a highlight of my trip to Japan. I highly recommend staying at this guesthouse.

charming rustic guesthouse right on the road. no trouble finding it whatsoever. great place to stay in if you’re planning on breaking up Shimanami Kaido into two days (like I did and completely recommend doing). best of all, it was right next to a konbini! also, they sell vegan friendly western food! I’ve been looking for coconut milk in Japan for ages and finally found some!
