Check in at the restaurant is convenient (and the food is good if you want to also get something to eat there), the house is charming and located in a quiet neighbourhood. Nice common areas and kitchen. Highly recommend!

Totally cute traditional Ryokan with kitchen and several rooms. It feels a bit like a hostel but it is really charming because there are only Japanese houses around and gardens in a very rural area. Seems really authentic. Nice host and good standard!

Great location to visit Iya Valley (just need to catch the JR train a couple of stops to Oboke). Nice, traditional guesthouse 10 mins walk from town/train station. You can use bikes for free to ride into town (only 5 min ride to a big supermarket).
Air-conditioning in the room and we also had a small balcony. Can use washing machine for free and we dried everything outside.
Beds were fairly comfortable for Japanese style.
