I arrived by bicycle (doing the Shiminami Kaido cycling route) a hour early, and was greeted warmly by the couple, who offered me a free homemade lemon drink, and I was allowed to check in. The room was comfortable, extra towels were available for me to use after swimming (the sea was right across the road), the view was beautiful, and the room was super clean. It was a Sunday night and all restaurants were closed in the town- the host offered to drive me to whatever restaurant on the island I preferred, then organised for the restaurant owner to drive me home. Amazing service. On leaving, they gave me a Japanese fan as a present.

WOW! This place is wonderful! One of the most beautiful places I've stayed during my month in Japan. I am only sorry I had just one night, would like to stay longer. Easy to find, all necessary amenities, fully equiped kitchen with traditional ceramics dishes and all electronic appliances you could imagine. AC heates the room well. Shower quite big. Everything spotlessly clean. Emergency food available, since there are probably no shops nearby. Drinks too. Tea & good coffee for free. Boardgames available. The house is designed in an old traditonal japanese style with tatami floors. I was amazed. It looks even much better than on the photos. The staff speaks english, which can be quite useful after an exhausting day on the bike :)

Really lovely owner that even took us to the local onsen and picked us up. Also reserved a place at a local restaurant, so we wouldn't go hungry. The location is in a quiet neighbourhood and the night sky was cool to see with all the stars. Could store our bicycles under a roof too. Really comfortable beds and pillows.

The food they served here was the best I've had since arriving in Japan 10 days ago. The staff are fabulous and speak English well, making conversation easy. The facilities are good. It's someone's home and they make you feel very welcome. Couldn't fault it and would recommend staying here.

Although basic and very small the room was perfect for one night. Showers and toilets were very clean. Other guests were considerate.

Cute place with cozy beds and nice atmosphere in room. Located in nice town close to shrine and wisteria garden and several good restaurants. Shared toilets and shower we're very clean. We were very happy there after a day of cycling!

Great place to rest up during the Shiminami Kaido. Felt like I was staying in someones room. There was also information including different restaurants that were available for breakfast and dinner with the type of food and opening times, something that I did not fully plan for

Very homely stay, almost like I was visiting my old parents house. It's a guest house with only 3 rooms, so it's quiet and private. Had very welcoming staff interactions and this is a great place to stay and explore the local islands from.
