The personal was truly amazing! Everything from picking us up at the station from driving us to different resorts. The breakfast was very nice and also the community with this and the neighboring Mountain View lodge was very good! Would recommend everyone to look this place up!

Customer service in M lodge is amazing, they’re super friendly, accomodating and will help you out on local resources. Will definitely stay again. Short walk to the slopes, they’ll help you with access to Ski hire etc… beautiful. They’ve washing machines downstairs and all the information you need

Ika and her family were the best hosts I’ve ever had at any accomodation! There was a problem with the booked room’s door and without hesitation, we were upgraded at no extra cost for the entire duration of our stay. It was great getting to know the family during dinners in the communal dining area, and we were even offered a lift back to the welcome centre for our bus back to the airport. The location is also unbelievable - about a 10 minute walk to either the King or Ace gondola, and smack-bang in the centre of restaurants and food trucks. Definitely try the Hokkaido seafood soup curry that is literally right next door - one of the best things I had in Japan.

The staff at Grandpapa are both very friendly and helpful, they ensured that our stay was very pleasant. The breakfast option served in the morning is delicious and gives you energy for a day on the slopes (¥300 per day). Grandpapa also offers a complementary shuttle service to the base of the mountain ensuring you can make it to the first chair which is awesome. They were also super accommodating when an extra friend decided to join us, upgrading us to a triple room. This is a great place to stay in Hirafu especially if you are a super keen snowboarder/skier who wants a more down to earth/ski lodge stay.

We are a big group and we were most delighted that there were toilet and shower on each floor. The host Satoru-san had provided little touches like a kettle in each room with cups, coffee and tea bags. These shows how much considerations were given to ensure the comfort of guests. The shower and toilets are very clean and cosy. Beds were comfortable and there were USB charging ports on the wooden bed frames! He prepared a very lovely breakfast with fresh ingredients and organic farm eggs and the jam was great. I particularly appreciate the fresh fruit juice and the coffee machine. Could not have ask for more - a great breakfast to start the day. If out objectives were not to go skiing, I could have stay cuddled in front of the cosy fireplace with an aromatic cup of coffee the whole day. That's how much we love the place. The host Satoru-san and his wife speaks good English and were the most welcoming host we had throughout our entire trip. Highly recommended.
