Emi was very nice. She put some yoghurt and fruit in the fridge and she offered us matcha. We felt very welcomed. She spoke good english.

The guesthouse is as clean as a home, and the manager of the guesthouse is such a nice person. He speaks English well, and communication with him was very easy. He even dropped us off at the Matsue Station on the last day. The toilets and the bathroom was always clean although the guesthouse was quite busy on our last two days.

I was able to check in earlier than the standard time (of couse this may vary, so set your expectations). You can also borrow a bike from them which is very helpful for solo travellers who wanted to roam around the area! Staff is very responsive to inquiries and informative. They even have free coffee and tea! 😊

Such a great place to stay in Matsue. It’s an old house with a quirky, young vibe, so you have the best of traditional and modern. Simple and minimalistic but cosy, clean and charming. Host Kohei is very helpful and available. Little cafe downstairs is super cute.
