The best guesthouse in Skardu! The location is quiet and beautiful, the rooms are spacious, very clean, and the beds are super comfortable. Breakfast was great and the value for money is unbeatable. Lavender Cottages was like living in a fairy tale with all the beautiful flowers, wood scrollwork and architecture. The people there were so friendly and helpful. It is such a delightful, relaxing place with restaurants in easy walking’s distance. It is the perfect location to explore Khaplu Palace Fort, the Katpana cold desert and Upper Kachura Lake. At the end of a day of sight seeing, don’t miss an authentic Pakistani BBQ dinner at Lavender Cottages! If you are more adventurous, the proprietor spent decades doing the big treks to Pakistan’s biggest mountains and has even published a coffee table book with outstanding photography! We will definitely stay at Lavender Cottages on a return trip to Skardu to tackle the Concordia Trek!

Everything is fine, Tahir, the owner of the facility, is an exceptionally helpful and obliging person. If you want, he will organize a trip around the area on his motorcycle or car. Hospitality above standard, I definitely recommend it to future guests.

This property is situated within a beautiful private garden and has wonderful views of the mountain. It is so calm and peaceful. I often heard the cuckoo calling as I sat in the garden. The property is really lovely and is situated close by to the main shopping area of Skardu. My room was in the ground floor and overlooked the garden. It was very big and really nicely presented. It had a very large adjoining bathroom and also a dressing area. For me though, quite apart from my amazing surroundings, my stay was made even more special due to the family running this guest house. They are the most wonderful family who are so helpful, friendly and hospitable. They provide delicious home made food and will happily cater for any of your needs - tours / advice / transport / airport pick up or drop off etc I arrived at Taaj Residence as a guest but definitely left as a friend. Highly recommended. I loved it

One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. Arsalan was an exceptional host and took great care of me during my stay. From the scrumptious green tea and cookie on arrival through to the unforgettable tours that he took me on with excellent value. And when I came down with food poisoning from a local eatery, he went over and above to ensure I was taken care of and nursed back to health. Furthermore, the room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the WiFi was top notch for this region. Also the shower had excellent hot water and they have solar power so any local power outages will not disrupt you. They also have an additional cafe on site where you can enjoy local and international cuisine from their local chef. Skardu is an amazing place and if you have the opportunity to visit, there is no other place I recommend more because honestly Arsalan deserves to have this place booked out every night. I feel so privileged to have stayed here and meet such a gracious host and his lovely and warm family.
